Good morning Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry, Draclvr, Marian, OldBroad and everyone. Fogfighers glad to hear you're in the clear and hope everyone affected by Storm Floris recovers quickly. We can use rain too Gerry and Draclvr. Have fun at lunch Connie. We have a Jimmy Johns near us...I'll have to give them a try. Grocery shopping is the main agenda on my docket today with daily chores, projects and gardening. Have a great day everyone

Good Tuesday morning. I guess that run of glorious weather is over. The humidity is 89% this morning with water running down the windows! I hate the idea of having to close the house up and turn the AC back on.
Was looking at some of the damage from Floris in Scotland this morning and it was significant.
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good afternoon all; I think I need my head examined, the humidex is 89F & I decided to make a double batch of lemon squares. Oh my, the kitchen is so hot, but the nice shortbread bottom & the gooey lemon custard top, it was worth it. Have a great day everyone & stay safe out there.

Had a message from Rosaboobie today that near her, Storm Floris recorded a 90 mph wind gust - the highest recorded at that station. She is in Northern Scotland. Wow. I assume she's okay! Things are just crazy all over. Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

Good afternoon everyone.
We're having a cool, windy day, unfortunately the last thing we need right now with all the forest fires. It was supposed to rain, but so far all it's done is a frustrating sprinkle or two. There's an out-of-control fire not all that far from us and we're getting some smoke here.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, soot, Draclvr, Judith, Marian, hagatha, and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready...I'm on my 2nd cup! Fogfighter glad you are safe from Floris! Sounds like good weather for staying in and gaming. Connie i love going out for lunch...I usually have a my dinner at lunch time and salad and something light late day. Sorry the humidity is back Draclvr. Today it will be less humid here...great for walking. Judith I love lemon squares! We have a bakery in town that makes the most delicious homemade lemon squares! They are a favorite of mine. Do you have your own recipe for making them? I've never made them. Hagatha I hope you get rain soon...we need it here too. Have a Happy Hump Day everyone! Gerry

Good Wednesday morning. Day is starting off with very nice temperatures, but is heading to 91 degrees F today.
Heading out to start watering my tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers... it is very, very dry here.
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Good morning Draclvr, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry Hagatha, Marian, Judith and all who follow. Yum, lemon squares sound delicious Judith. Hope the fires are contained Hagatha. Humidity is back here too but the temperatures will only get to the mid 80s. Enjoyed a mid 70s walk this morning with a small breeze that kept the humidty at bay. Enjoy your manicure Connie! Grand boys get back from their Smokey Mountains trip, will be interesting to hear their thoughts about the area. Errands, chores and projects will keep me busy today, but first another cup of waddb and a danish. Have a great 🐫 day everyone!

Good afternoon everyone: Kaki's sister, my lemon square recipe comes from a 1963 Betty Crocker cookie & squares book. I'd be so upset if I ever lost that book. Our temp. is down to 79F but the humidex is up in the high 80's again. This is a strange summer for us because we usually don't get high humidity. Have a good day everyone & stay safe out there.

Just back from our second cruise of the year, this last one was the Inside Passage again as the views are so wonderful, we did go for a trip across Canada inbetween, which was great as we have seen so little of Canada in the 53 years we have lived here, Canada is so big it's hard to see everywhere!
It's raining today which is goodnews as we have yet another forest fire near us.
I'll be busy today doing all the clothes washing from our trip, but will try and sneak in a game or two.

Good afternoon everyone.
We did get some rain but not enough to quell the fires.
I had a dental surgery this morning, preparatory work for an implant. I've been very unlucky with my teeth and gums inherited from my father's side. Fortunately these days there are many options.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning Fogfighter, connie, Draclvr, soot, Judith, copper, hagatha and everyone. Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready to start your day! Fogfighter glad you have no issues from the storm. Connie your Music Bingo must be such fun! Draclvr I hope you get some rain for your garden soon. We need rain too. Soot I hope you have less humidity for walking. Judith I have my old Betty Crocker cook book, I'll have to check and see if it has the recipe for lemon squares. Copper sounds like you had a wonderful time on the cruise thru the inside passage! I've never been on a cruise. Hagatha so sorry you are having issues with your teeth...I hope all goes well with the implants. Wishing everyone a peaceful day! Gerry

Good morning Fogfighter, Gerry, Hagatha, Copper, Judith and all who follow. Hagatha, I hope the implant process proceeds smoothly without any complications. Copper, I imagine the inside passage cruise is a beautiful trip. We still have and use our Betty Crocker cook book Judith. Music bingo sounds like a blast Connie. I look forward to fall temperatures like yours Fogfighter. We had some good showers yesterday afternoon...but need more to break the drought. 74 degrees this morning with a slight breeze that kept the 94% humidity tolerable for our walk. Time for another cup of WADDB and a bagel. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone

Good Thursday morning. Had to put out another gallon of hummingbird food and add water to my ant moats. I have ants who do anything to get at the sugar water. The moats are little red plastic holders that I fill with water and then hang the hummingbird feeder on it. All the porch plants were parched, so I had to water them too. Now it's time to "water and feed" me with a cup of WADDB!
A few friends are coming this morning to pick some of the bushels of little orange tomatoes called Sungold I have.
It's spring. My life is weeds.

Soot, LOL! My ant moats are far too tiny for the birds to bathe in and luckily, the squirrels don't come up to the porch!

Good afternoon everyone; Draclvr, your hummingbirds do have voracious appetites. It's still very humid here again with rain. Enjoy the day & stay safe out there.
