Good Friday morning. It seems like I was just saying it was MOnday. These weeks are flying by. At 9 am it's already 83 degrees here, so it's heading for a toasty one. Humidity back up as we had a few sprinkles yesterday. Perfect weather for a big fair.

County, 4H and state fairs are a big deal in the Midwest. The big one in the neighboring town is going on. It draws in hundreds of thousands over 5 days. Last night the entertainment was ZZ Top! I would have killed to go hear them, but fighting the huge crowds doesn't sound like fun to me any more. I know my 19 year old granddaughter who is home for college is not missing a single night... it's a huge deal for the kids too. A friend took her littles for the midway and the rides and it looked really fun. The Missouri State Fair is going on too. I used to work that one for the environmental division I worked for with the State. It was almost overwhelming it is so huge!

We have had pleasant weather for the last couple days...less humidity and lower temps, but starting Monday we are back to high humidity and temps in the 90s, but I will enjoy the next couple days of great weather! Perfect for walking in the early morning.

Good Saturday morning. Hubby's big breakfast done, hummingbirds fed and now I have time for a cup of WADDB before I get started on the day.

I'm going to get a chuck roast out of the freezer and put it in the crockpot with a packet of Italian dressing seasoning, a chopped onion and some beef broth. I will shred it up for sandwiches tomorrow. My god daughter and her family are coming out to spend the afternoon. They have 3 boys who are 16, 14, and 12 and it's nearly impossible to find a time for a visit. They have to leave by 5 because the two older boys have practice for track at 6. I hope her mom can come too, but last I heard she was in New York City attending a bunch of plays.

Welcome to the weekend Draclvr, Connie, Fogfighter, Gerry and all who follow. Late breakfast this morning as morning chores kept me hopping. Groceries are on my docket shortly but first I'm going to enjoy a cup of WADDB and bagel.

oldbroad, no, I thaw it out first. Then I season with salt and pepper and brown it well in a skillet. I will deglaze the goodies in the skillet and pour over the top in the crock pot.
