Éalú means escape in the Irish language, something I didn't know when I came to the game,
but which makes sense almost immediately. You are clearly in a maze piloting a little wooden
mechanical mouse, moving from room to room and the objective is presumably to escape.

Or to find the way out/get to the end etc., which amounts to the same thing.

Thanks flotsam (and Drac)! "Stop motion" is lost on me as I don't really understand the concept of it, even after Googling. blush

It’s called stop motion because you aim a film camera at an object (or scenery) and shoot one frame, and then stop the camera. Then you move the object slightly, shoot another frame, stop the camera again, etc., to create an illusion of movement.

Nowadays, you usually don’t so it like this exactly, but that’s the basic concept.

When my wife and I were planning our first game, we actually toyed with the idea of making a stop motion game, partly due to her interest in miniatures.

An excellent example of a stop motion game is The Neverhood.

This game looks astonishing.

Thanks Mikael. I guess that sort of makes sense to me. More than anything else I read anyway. It does sound like a lot of work.

I have never played The Neverhood.
