Somehow I made it through that puzzle. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes. I almost gave up to get out of the game again but took one more try. The solve did not look like I thought it was going to though, so I just got lucky!

I finished "Fear for Sale : The 13 Keys [CE]" today - including the bonus chapter .. and DID encounter a "book and a page" puzzle .. but am quite confused as it didn't happen in the room I remember, nor was the room even in the building I remember crazy

I did thoroughly enjoy the game and am very grateful for it having been suggested but feel I still haven't completed my "Which Game Quest ??" whistle

So I might have to look at the other suggestions offered via this thread .. even though it could very well become a lifetime mission !! rotfl

Mystery Case Files: The Black Veil might be the one then, Mad.

Yes. I have considered that game previously. It's another long one, though.

I really need to try and find a "written" walkthrough - and see if I can isolate the section with the book and page ....

EDIT :

I've downloaded links to walkthroughs for :

The Black Veil

Web of Deceit Black Widow

and

Web of Deceit Deadly Sands

They're all Utube video walkthroughs but I can't find any plain old written ones !!
So they will be looked at when I have the time lol

What about here:

https://www.bigfishgames.com/blog/walkthroughs/mystery-case-files-the-black-veil.html#6

https://www.bigfishgames.com/blog/walkthroughs/web-of-deceit-deadly-sands.html

I can't find one for Black Widow but the only note I wrote about for those 2 games is that you had trouble with both games in Win 7 but not in Win 10. I don't show that you mentioned any specific glitches.

Thanks for those links, oldbroad.
I'll use them when I go back to re-investigating 👍

I finished Living Legends: Frozen Destiny. It was good but I think I skipped 2 puzzles. I don't remember what they were though.

I started Christmas Stories: Taxi of Miracles tonight.

I have a whole bunch of unplayed Christmas Stories games. At the very least I should play one this month!

I have been playing time management games but plan on getting back into a HOPA pretty soon.

I know I said this a few times already but I finally am doing it. I ended up playing 500 levels of Matchventures 3 and actually encountered new things along the way. Anyway I have officially put it away in my "played games" folder. I was really getting sick of it but it was comfortable to play. And...

I finally started Jewel Match: Dracula. For some reason the game crash closed on me in the first level which I played a couple of times while trying to figure out how it works. I do have the tutorial showing but it doesn't cover everything. This is looking like it may be a hard (but fun) game. Maybe I just need to get used to it. I am playing in "timed" and "normal" modes. I hope I remember to buy a life when I go back in. I think I am already down to only one and I have already bought one. I only played 3 levels. Actually, starting over might not be a bad idea though. I can't figure out some of the extra part after you complete the level but can continue playing it until your time runs out. There's some "cup" thing. I haven't gotten through that part yet on any of the 3 levels. In past Jewel Match games I usually get most everything available.

The Christmas Stories game was pretty short. I do still have the bonus chapter to play though.

Wow, you certainly got your money's worth out of Matchventures 3! And that's really surprising that you continued to find new things along the way. Very nice.

I still plan on checking out Jewel Match: Dracula.

Argh. The game crash closed again when I was almost through with a hard level. Actually, didn't know what I was really supposed to be doing where I was. I bought the game from Steam. I don't know if that makes a difference or if this is something my computer is doing or what.

Well, it seems like it saved my game almost where I was in the level so that was good. Then it crashed again. I posted in glitches.

I hope you can get your issues sorted.

I just read elsewhere that Lost Lands X is coming to Big Fish next week. If so, hooray - and finally! presents12

That's good about Lost Lands X. Will it be a CE, do you know? The Steam game is not, as far as I can tell.

I think I solved the crash problem. It didn't crash tonight but the "scenes" started looking all distorted and not working right. I closed the game and looked in the Steam discussions. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner. The game needs to be run as administrator. Since I changed that, I haven't had any problems and I've played quite a few levels since. This is a fun, hard, and addicting game. Just when I think I'm getting the hang of it, I'm not. grin12

Word is that it will be a CE.

Oh, that is good news about Jewel Match: Dracula! And it is sounding better by the minute. presents12

Well, my game crashed again last night. Not sure what the problem is.

I finished Christmas Stories: Taxi of Miracles. I think I will play Mystery Case Files: Crossfade next.

I've played Crossfade but could definitely play it again as it has been quite a while since then.

I played about an hour of Crossfade and am already pretty lost with the story. Also, this game crashed on me too. I wonder if I have to start the games every time using the "run as administrator". Maybe they don't hold that information or something. (This is a Steam game also.) I have to go into the Steam games folder to do that. I don't see anywhere in my desktop icon to do it.

Edit: In the desktop icon under "security" there is "group or user names". Would I change it to "administrators" there. Do you know or should I post in glitches.

I have never tried to run as administrator with a Steam game, but when I do run as the admin I do it by right-clicking the exe file and going from there.

I got my Crossfade game from Big Fish.

Okay, that exe file is what I'm clicking when I'm in the Steam games folder. I'll just try to remember to do that as I'm not sure what will happen if I click on the "administrators" in the desktop icon. It seems like that should be correct but...

Thanks, Marian!

Just to be clear, I don't know if that's the problem, at least with Crossfades. There is a pinned discussion for the Dracula game that says it has to be run as administrator or my computer has to be running as administrator. I've never had this issue with any Steam games before. (Not the administrator thing. Probably had crashes though.)

2nd Edit. I played Crossfades again using the .exe administrator and it played okay, a little sticky in some spots, but then when I hit "exit" I got some kind of error. I don't get it. I hope all my Steam games aren't going to start being a problem. frown12

I understand your concern, because these little nagging issues can be worrisome. However, I don't think you are going to start having problems with everything from Steam. That seems very unlikely.
