TGIF good morning everyone. Whoa Hagatha! The coconut curry with prawns sounds delicious! Stay warm Gerry! Off to the vet later today for a check-up and also think I'll be making a short-notice grocery run. But first it's time for WADDB and bagels. Have a great day everyone

Good afternoon everyone; It's cold & snowing here today. I'm just on the sofa watching the movie " Fried green tomatoes", love that movie. Have a great day & stay safe out there.

Good Friday afternoon. Finally taking a break. I had a very late start today when I had to go with hubby to the eye doctor so I could drive home. He gets shots in his eyes for macular degeneration and his vision started going wonky this week. He called to make an appointment and they could get him in right away. So I didn't get started until almost noon! I'm doen to getting the ingredients for the asparagus, spinach, gruyer cheese quiche together. Think I'll make one more batch of blueberry muffins too. Then it's just baking everything in the morning and hauling it down to the Ranch by 10:00
I found a frozen pizza in the big freezer and I think that's going to be supper tonight!

Good evening everyone,
It was a Pilates morning and my shoulder did surprisingly well for a change. It's still hurts like crazy but I was able to get through almost all the moves today.
I'm about to unpack my new boots. My old walking shoes and hiking boots were looking utterly disreputable, with actual holes in the walking shoes, and it was time for new ones. I'm also in the process of going through my closets and making two piles; one for consignment and one for donation. My closets are embarrassingly full of stuff I haven't worn in years.
Tonight I'm eating the rest of the prawn curry and the last package of my favourite, now-discontinued frozen Indian veg dishes. It always seem that as soon as I find something I really like, the stores stop selling it. These were very tasty, had no questionable ingredients, and had the added benefit of being low in sodium. Darn!

good morning everyone, that is a great movie Judith, I've watched it a number of times. Best wishes at the ranch today Draclvr. It wasn't too chilly here this morning Gerry and enjoyed my walk with Max. Yes Hagatha and OldBroad, that is frustrating. Yes indeed Fogfighter the WADDB and bagels are marvelous small things in our day. Have fun tonight Connie. Have a great day everyone

Good Saturday afternoon. Yeah, that's COLD, judith!! Not bad here with about 50 degrees F.
Well, I survived yet another Ranch volunteer brunch! When we got home about 11:30, I needed a shower and a nap, not necessarily in that order. Everything turned out great, even that experimental quiche with asparagus, spinach and gruyere cheese. The one lady I talked to last year hugged me for including her vegetarian diet. There was another woman there who has Alpha-gal Syndrome and she was also very grateful. If you've read about it, a tick bite from a Lone Star tick which is infected makes you allergic to all red meat. Another good friend has it and it's miserable.
I need to muster up the strength to start cleaning up the kitchen and start loading the dishwasher!

Non-stop heavy rain and winds the order of the days here. And sometimes really cold nights, too.
Very non- Christmassy, miserable weather!!
But the cheery Gameboomers decor gives a BOOST 🌟🌟🌟

Oldbroad, you can still eat eggs and some cheese. It's becoming close to becoming an epidemic in places like Vermont and becoming more and more common as the climate warms up allowing these ticks to be more active for longer periods. My friend and the woman I met today both said it has also aggravated their already existing allergies too. It's getting so common, there are even cookbooks being published for people with it.
"Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is an allergy to red meat, meat products and dairy that you develop after getting bitten by a tick. Products you might have an allergic reaction to include:
Meat from mammals (like beef, pork and lamb) Foods or products made with animal fat Certain medications Cow’s milk and products made with milk Alpha-gal is a carbohydrate (sugar) molecule found in most mammals (other than humans) and tick saliva. Not everyone who gets a tick bite develops alpha-gal syndrome. And it’s unlikely that you’ll have a reaction to every food or product that could contain alpha-gal."
When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.
