Good morning everyone. Connie, I’m really sorry for your loss...thinking of you and Lynda's friends. Oh my goodness Hagatha, you certainly have daily challenges. And like Mad notes...they usually occur on the weekends! Kimchi and Avocado Quesadillas sounds quite tasty OldBroad. Ah, sounds like hubby didn't get a vote on what to keep Draclvr. Hope your afternoon is kind to you everyone

Research notes I can see! But doctor appointment summaries for appointment that happened 4 years ago??? He is a serious hoarder and simply cannot throw anything away, no matter how useless it is. There is a pile of old garden hoses that have actually gone rotten after laying in a one foot tall pile for 15 years in a shed. They are likely full of snakes and other critters and utterly useless. But will he throw them away? Nope! Classic hoarder.

My brother-in-law in Southampton has become a hoarder in his old age. He looked after his parents for decades and after his mother died, he and his father couldn't cope with basic filing and sorting and the place filled up over the years. John used to go across the pond every year and clean up as much as he could in two weeks. I can just imagine what the place looks like now.
True hoarding is serious. When I was managing a rental portfolio my resident managers used to show me the hoarder apartments. All the piled up paper becomes a serious fire hazard, and the weight can bring down a floor. Sadly, even if they can be convinced to clean up a bit, they backslide very quickly. We always ended up having to evict to protect the other renters.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. Connie I am so sorry to hear of your good friend Lynda's passing. My prayers go out to you and her family. Draclvr my hubby never could throw anything out. I have a barn, garden shed, garage, over the garage storage, basement, etc. filled with so much I don't know where to begin! I wish I could wave a magic wand and it would all be gone! Enjoy your day everyone! Gerry

Good Tuesday morning. Sunny and cold, but supposed to be near 90 degrees F on Thursday!
oldbroad, that's what is suggested if you want to declutter. Just pick one shelf or one tabletop or one corner of a room and tackle it. Then pick another corner or box and tackle that. Or maybe just get one shredder out of the box and plug it in. Shredding paper is very satisfying - I could do it all day! These days, there is virtually no paperwork that needs to be kept for more than a year. We keep important documents like wills, marriage certificates, birth certificates, deeds etc., in a safe deposit box in the bank.

Good morning everyone. Not much happening here. The Dell service tech should be here some time today. I hope he can fix the laptop as it is deteriorating and I didn't budget for a new one this year. I need to photocopy my tax documents and I can't do that right now. No walk today. We’re back into rain. EDIT: New SSD, seems to be working. Now our power is out. :

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. My goodness Agatha you have had the worst luck with Dell and the laptop from hell! I'd have given up on it a long time ago. It will be a cool cloudy day here today...temps in 40s. Not bad for a nice long walk. Enjoy your day everyone! Gerry

Good Wednesday morning. Warming up nicely today.
I'm meeting a bunch of friends for lunch in town today. A woman in our group needs a heart transplant and we are getting together to offer support. I think she is only 65, but she has some genetic heart issue. Two of her daughters have it too. Can't remember the name, but the heart muscle gets thicker and thicker over time.
Fingers crossed that new SSD finally does the trick, hagatha!

Good morning everyone. No, the SSD did not do the trick. I keep pointing out that the battery is always charging and I'm always getting the 4 red, one blue light flash on the Start button, but the technicians don't seem to want to look at that, although there's tons of information online about Alienwares doing this. It's my battery. I checked the battery usage levels this morning and they are at 100% while I'm doing literally nothing on my laptop except check the battery levels. As soon as I start a game, the warning lights start flashing and battery usage goes to 100% but once I shut the game down the battery usage levels never go back down. I'm seeing some helpful posts on line that I'll try. We had a long power outage yesterday. It gave me a chance to use my portable generator and make a cup of tea, fry some eggs, power up my tablet and not worry about having no coffee in the morning if the power didn't come back on. The one I got would be good for a couple of days. Between that and the fireplace, I'm all set for a winter power outage. I was almost disappointed when the power came back on.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
