Good morning everyone.

Finally some rain. I don't know how much, but everything is wet this morning. It's sunny now so I guess we're back to dry weather again, but hopefully there was enough to slow the fires here on the Island.

I was going to go for a pub lunch today with a friend but she's ill, so maybe I'll go out myself, do some shopping, maybe a walk. I have yet to power wash the walkways and the windows, and I do need to get that done before the Stage 3 water restrictions kick in. The worst is done, though, The concrete that's mostly in shade was black.

Nothing looks better than freshly power washed concrete! Mine in the back where there is a lot of shade was just awful. Now it looks brand new.

I used a lower PSI because it has a wider angle but for the remaining black patches I'll use the highest level. I can actually use my mini-handheld power washer for the walkways. It does a good job but the battery only lasts for about half an hour. It's for the areas where there is no power outlet.

Good Sunday morning. Fogfighter, being about half Norwegian, I thank you for the syltetoj to sweeten up the knackebrod to celetrate Norwegian Independence Day!

Very toasty day ahead nearing 90 degrees F. Although we set up the sprinkler scarecrow, I lost two tomato plants to the deer. We got about half an inch of rain yesterday, so I will have to wait a couple of days to get in there and plant new ones. One tried to get under the electric wire hubby set up around the early crops. I think he got a bit of a "shock!" I am eating the most wonderful butter crunch lettuce from there. And crunchy fresh radishes are my late night snack when I'm up reading!

There's not a cloud in the sky. I'm going to wash the front of the house which is still covered in pollen. The soffits and fascia and roof will have to be done professionally, though. I notice that there are little trees in my gutters!

It was a hot one here today. Pushing 90 degrees.

Good afternoon everyone. Hibiscus tea in the break room is ready. It looks like summer is knocking on the door...I'm not ready yet for those temps. It was warm and muggy here this moring too on our walk in the park. Got my daily chores done and squeaked in some MTG games before grandson had to head back to school.

Upper 80's here today also. I have some sweat beading on my hairline but won't turn the air on yet. My brother says it's "cold" in the basement. I told him we need to switch living areas.

Good morning everyone; It's only 51F going up to 63. I'm wondering if we are going to have a cold & wet summer, I sure hope not. Calgary which is about 200 miles to the south of us got snow on Saturday. Summer, where for art thou summer LOL.

Judith, We're also having a cool May. Yesterday was lovely but today I have my fire on. But snow in Calgary? This is not normal.

And we are pushing 6 inches of rain since about 10 this morning. We ve been without power most of the day. They say maybe back on by 8 tonight. But it just doesn't stop raining! And the linemen can't work while it's raining and there is thunder and lightning!

Good Tuesday morning. The power finally came back on at 7:56 last night. It was a long day of reading and knitting! I have the computers and my router on UPS battery backups, so after the power went out, I downloaded 2 books to my phone so I could at least read. Then I turned off the UPS on both, so no more internet!

It looks like an ocean out there. I'm afraid to go out and see if any of my baby tomato and pepper plants survived. We still haven't checked the rain gauge, but I'm suspecting a minimum of 6 inches. Wish I could share some of it with you hagatha and soot! There were flash flood warning and I'm sure the rivers will be coming up. The Bourbeuse River runs one of its curves right next to the road we drive into town, so there might be water over the road this week too. I'm heading in town for a few groceries in case we have to start using the alternate longer route to go in town.
