That's good to know. The last time someone posted an external link there, the post got removed. Perhaps they have loosened up on that rule.

Won't be happening again. The email/password issue has occurred again. The amount of time it would take to get Game Manager up and running again simply isn't worth it. Besides, (and I don't know if this has happened to anyone else or that this is a result on to my situation,) when I log on to BFG home page and look at My History nearly half, if not more, of games that I purchased aren't even available for me to download anymore. Instead when I open the game it says that I am offered one game credit. So, even if I wanted to download some more purchased games, I wouldn't be able to. Infuriating to say the least.

They toll for thee.

I am so sorry to hear this, rtrooney! I was actually just thinking about you a little earlier today because you had gone quiet; I thought maybe you were busy enjoying your games. I am actually afraid to even look at anything in my Big Fish accounts if I don't have to. I don't want to go looking for trouble because I don't think I could handle what has been happening with you.

Rtrooney, I just looked at my Purchase History and am not seeing anything like you describe - and haven't had the experience of being offered one game credit when I open a game. So, color me confused.

I’m so sorry to read of these BF issues …. 🙄

The only thing I’ve personally noticed is that lately Game Manager asks me to log in more frequently than it ever used to.

Do you have the latest version of the Game Manager, Mad? The latest version was supposed to fix that issue (and it did for me).

I don’t know if I do, Marian. I suppose I’d have to uninstall and reinstall to find out ?? 🙂

Open the GM and go to Options and then to About: you will then see "check for updates." My version is 4.0.1.5 (4.0).

I don't have that version but won't mess with it unless I have to.

I did just fine with the update and it also fixed my issue about the GM logging me out all the time, so I am happy it's there. But if all is well otherwise, I see no need at this time to do the update.

This is sort of a follow up to the Elephant Games Statement post but not just about Elephant. I'm of the opinion that Big Fish is getting rid of the (in my opinion) better developers. Maybe you can keep us posted on whatever you might see Marian?

I sure will, ob. I don't think it is a question of getting rid of the better developers so much as it is a matter of terminating the contracts with all of the HOPA developers. Domini and 5 BN are not involved because they have not had an exclusive contract with Big Fish for a few years now.

I don't know or understand anything about the contracts. So, does that mean that new Elephant games may still come to Big Fish?

I don't know, ob. What it does mean is that we will be seeing Elephant Games showing up first on places like Steam and Google Play, I would imagine. It seems a possibility that Big Fish would release their games later on, yes, but we don't know for sure. It does seem like most of these HOPAs get passed around to other sites later on after their initial release.

And what kind of games will Elephant be focusing on? Again, we will just have to stay tuned. They may spend most of their time developing games for mobile now, but again we will have to wait and see.

Sure seems like Big Fish has stepped in it and doesn't know how to get it off the bottom of their shoe. Seems as though it canceled contracts, and planned to re-negotiate them with more favorable terms ... for Big Fish. Only to find out that the companies aren't interested.

I am certainly not denigrating any of you for continuing with Big Fish. I first joined many many years ago and it's the site that got me into adventure games. Remember Drawn? But it veered too far into the more basic hidden object games, their once treasured Mystery Case Files games got simplified, and I lost interest. My disinterest was magnified by a glitch that allowed me to play whole games for free...and I still left. Now where's that stuffed fish they sent me back in the early 2000s?

It seems as though they've stopped the BOGO sales too. They haven't had one for a long time. I thought they might for the holiday weekend but, nope. Some of their newer weekly, or a day here and there, sales are okay but I know I'm not buying nearly as many games as I used to from them. duh

The sales I have taken advantage of were a few of the weekly or daily sales, I agree. I can't remember when we last had a BOGO. I have bought a few match 3 games the past few months but there have been way less HOPAs and that was mostly what I was spending money on before, so they aren't getting much money from me either. I have pretty much stopped buying games altogether actually, although I still get one now and then (I plan on picking up Legendary Tales V). Money is tight, and I have more games already than I will ever need for the rest of my life (not that this ever stopped me in the past). rolleyes

Hi, Marian!

After over 16 years, I am seriously considering cancelling my BFG membership. Since the beginning of this year, I have picked up exactly 5 games, 2 of which were "The Catch" for free and 2 of which were the "Daily Deals" for $1. I downloaded the demos of 2 HOPA games that looked interesting, but there was no voice acting so i passed. Since Big Fish cut ties with some of their most popular HOPA game developers, they must have seen a sharp decrease in sales because I don't think I'm alone.

I downloaded the demo of "Dark City: Florence" CE and will definitely pick that one up but, if things don't soon change, I'll be looking for older games to buy with my Points and then call it a day. I am completely stumped and disappointed that a company who was the model for Customer Service and value for the dollar has completely abandoned a large section of its customer base. The only plus is, for the last 2 months I've been charged $6.99 Can. for my membership fee but, even at par, it's not worth it to me anymore.

Susan

Hi Susan, good to see you, and I understand completely. Big Fish is supposed to be beginning internal development of new HOPAs, but we won't know for sure until we start to see them. Your spending since the beginning of the year sounds similar to mine.

And yes, the last several Domini games have had no voiceovers. I am not sure why they have made this decision, especially since I think it would be pretty easy to include AI voiceovers if nothing else.

I guess it will all come out in the wash, as my grandmother used to say.
