Good morning eveeryone.

It's supposed to be a hot one today, up to 28 C. However, it is cloudy and they clouds look a bit ominous. Dare I hope for a thunderstorm?

Anyway, today is more work in the garage. I've got the HVAC guy coming today and I need to clean up in there.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

So...ended up making a no-notice run to the post office to get IRS estimated taxes in the mail this morning. It also looks like we may get quite a bit of rain showers this week...we got over 1/2 inch last night which was wonderful.

Good Monday afternoon. Wish I could send you some of our weather, Fogfighter - beautiful sunny day out here.

It's finally dry enough to get into the tomatoes, so I've been working out there. I had to get a new sprayer this year. I laughed at myself as I cheerfully purchased an electric one! It has a rechargeable battery and I will never again have to pump up one of those old sprayers forty eleven times! Haven't used it yet as it's still charging up, but will definitely get the spraying done later today. I try to NOT put any chemicals on the tomatoes, but in our hot humid climate, I have to spray a fungicide or I wouldn't have any plants at all. We get the early and late blights plus septoria spot and other nasties so bad here. As soon as they start setting tomatoes, then I stop.

When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.

Hagatha you mentioned the other day they were back working on your pond and you thought it was the water pipe leaking...is it fixed? Have you had the battery installed in your computer yet? Draclvr good luck using the electric sprayer!

Hope you all have a happy day! hug

That'd be great Draclvr. Today even worse here. 12 Celsius and rain. Might be good for the crops. If we get some sun.

Happy new Tuesday GameBoomers

Good morning everyone....enjoying wide awake double dark brew, bagels and rain showers this morning and hopefully all day. Connie, I remember the standard hot and humid afternoons with thunderstorms when I first moved to Alabama back in the 70s. You could set your watch to the afternoon thunderstorms lol

Wishing you all a Tootin Toosday! wave

Good Tuesday morning. Promises to be another beautiful day... It was even a tad chilly this morning. Especially since I had to run my truck in town to get the driver's side window fixed. Driving with the window down was a little brisk!

Just working outside today taking advantage off the weather. I know it won't last and the hot humid stuff will be moving back in.

Good morning everyone.

It's bright and sunny and very windy this morning. I've finally had to put the air conditioning on as the house heated up drastically yesterday.

It's a Pilates morning and then some errands in town in the afternoon.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Judith, your weather this year has been awful!

We're in the midst of a hot spell. I rarely venture out in short sleeves and sandals but today I have to.

Good Morning Everyone! Wide awake Double Dark Brew is ready. wave

Yesterday in the early evening my next door neighbor saw a black bear going down my driveway! Last Sunday my other neighbor saw one in her side yard heading to the back and into the woods. We have state forest surrounding the neighborhood and over the last couple years there have been a lot of bear sightings...I'm going to have to be on the look out...especially when out walking!

Hope you all enjoy your day! wave

Gerry, please do be careful. We have had similar experiences with bears in our neighborhood. We had one bear walk across the road right in front of us a few months ago while we were out taking a walk, and several weeks ago my son was looking out our kitchen window and one crossed right in front of him, past our birdbaths, and down our driveway; he was also running the entire time. It was going on eight o'clock in the evening and it was still light out; the sighting when we were walking was four o'clock in the afternoon. It really gives you pause.

Wishing everyone a good Wednesday. I woke up very early this morning due to itchy insect bites which were keeping me awake off and on last night. Oh well, this too shall pass. wave

Not being used to having any really wild animals generally at large here in the UK I would obviously be very scared if there were bears abroad in MY neighbourhood, but can understand why they would be abroad over there with you folks, if their natural habitats are becoming diminished 😥

Are they under any kind of official"protection" ??

Good morning everyone.

Black bears are a common sight here on the Island. We saw them all the time up in the Campbell River area, and frequently in Strathcona Park. We even had a resident neighbourhood bear, which was affectionally called Sidney, in our area. He didn't bother anyone. He was just there for the blackberries. Good thing, too, because he was huge.

In recent years Grizzlies have been sighted on the Island for the first time in known history. They swim across from t he Mainland. I don't mind running into a Black bear as long as it's not a sow with cubs, but a Grizzly? Yikes!

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Wednesday morning. Windy and hot today!

We've had some juvenile black bears sighted in town the last couple of weeks. And one was seen just a couple of miles from us. These are mostly young males just moving on through. People were advised to kkeep their trash picked up and bring in the bird feeders as they don't want them to become anchored someplace because of an abundance of easy food. I'm with you, hagatha... just allow them to pass on through as WE are the ones invading their regular habitat! But a grizzly would also give me great pause!

Good morning everyone. We are too rural for black bears here. Years ago, I used to see/hear black bears visiting our camp site(s) at night in Montana and Colorado...rummaging for food. A grizzly would give me pause too!! Time for another cup of Gerry's brew and a bagel from Connie before I'm off on my afternoon schedule.

Have a great day everyone wave
