Oh, I’m not tech savvy either, far from it. My Son in Law set it up for me 😬
But apparently it’s not very rare or anything. I’ve heard of lots of folk since that have similar set-ups 😑

Mad, I just set up something similar with my new Windows 11 computer and my Windows 10 computer. I tried a physical KVM switch, but it won't work with my Razer mouse or keyboard. I found some software that will do the same thing and although it's not perfect, it works pretty well. I can use the same keyboard, mouse and monitor just with the software. It's kind of cool!

If anyone is interested, Logitech makes (or used to make) a line of keyboards and mice (MX series I think) that have a "QuickSwitch or Easy-Switch" on them allowing you to use them on up to three PC's. You need to get a receiver, which is just a little USB port plug for each machine. If I recall correctly think they come with one receiver. I haven't used them for gaming, but I do use an MX setup for my editing machines and the server with which they are linked. I can switch on the fly between two PC's and a server, no prob. Those won't help if you use separate monitors. I use an HDMI switch for the monitors though, as I use a different monitor for the storage server. Here's a video about one of the setups Logitech has available. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UzF7Hq1IeU

I have both the Logitech's MX Master 3S Bluetooth Edition Mouse and the MX Keys S Bluetooth Keyboard Trail. This mouse is the best I have ever owned and I love the keyboard. I added a stand for the keyboard I got from Amazon. Dongles came with each. I use them on my W7 and W11 but they can run up to 3 systems. Can be purchased for windows or mac Logitech's MX Master 3S Bluetooth Edition MouseBest Buy - videos Logitech's MX Keys S KeyboardBest Buy - 4th video ! Changed - You can download Logi Options+ from Logitech's support center - "Logi Options+ is a next-gen app that lets you manage and customize your supported mice and keyboards so they all seamlessly work towards your goals. Finished No Man's Sky after a ridiculous and embarrassing number of hours. Talk about addictive! I'm sure I'll go back to it but it's time for a break. Since neither Witcher 3 nor Dragon Age: Inquisitor played well on my Steam Deck, I took a chance on Avowed. I'm not completely blown away by it, but it is a solid and perfectly fine RPG, quite enjoyable.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I'd put Avowed at around 6.5 to 7 out of ten. Perfectly playable. Nothing truly exceptional, but fun.
No Man's Sky...well, it's a game where 100 hours can go by and the plot moves not a single inch because you got obsessed with something that diverted your attention, like collecting crashed spaceships or building an underwater home base. or creating the perfect Corvette.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

NMS ran perfectly on my Steam Deck, and without a single crash or freeze in all the time I played it. The space travel part of the game is seamless, no endless loading screens. It can be played with almost no fighting if that's your preference, with the exception of some pretty easy space battles. There are multiplayer missions, but those are optional and I never bother with them.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
