Good Wednesday morning. Talked to Petra in Germany yesterday... it is SO hot there. 40 degrees C/104 degrees F. They will be bringing the heat here with them as it's supposed to be in the mid-90's here all weekkk knext week. At least the pool will finally warm up enough for me.... I hate cold water!

I picked the first "mess" of green beans yesterday. I always say only country boys like my husband know just what quantity makes up a mess! So I had some steamed beans with a bit of butter, salt and pepper for supper last night! I'll pick the rest of them tomorrow and that's supper sorted for Saturday night. Hubby will make a big pot of smoked ham hocks, green beans and potatoes. It's a "thing" around here and is really good. He makes a broth with the smoked hocks, onions, celery and chicken broth in the pressure cooker, then simmers the meat with potatoes and new beans in the broth. I will do a couple pans of cornbread to go with it.

Grocery store run today.

When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.

Good morning everyone.

We're also having a heat spell and I'm having to turn on the air conditioning in the late afternoon. Last year I think I only turned it on about six times. I think we're in for a pretty hot and dry summer here, too.

I planted a few perennials around the pond yesterday but I still need one big evergreen in the back of it to anchor it in winter. I might swing by the nursery later today. I can buy a big one in a pot, as they deliver, and I can have my landscapers plant it next month. I was thinking about a weeping cypress, but I suspect it would get too big.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
