Good Thursday morning. Yes, another 8 hours without power for us yesterday too! I feel your pain, Space Quest! A severe thunderstorm popped up and blew through about 5 pm... winds were 65 mph and up. We have a lot of branches down in the yard, but no other damage. Thank heavens for my little power bank. I was able to charge up my cell phone so I could read a book on it and then I watched a couple episodes of a series I'm watching on my cell phone. I have Bluetooth earbuds, so I don't have to use the cell phone speaker.

Gerry, the vast majority of Windows computer manufacturers are also extremely reliable - Dell just isn't one of them. The Windows computer I built myself is still running perfectly 8 years later. And the new one I had EcollegePC build for me is a dream. For those of us who are heavy gamers, Apple computers are just not an option because so few of the games we love are ported to Apple. The idea of not being able to play Witcher 3 The Wild Hunt is unthinkable! Plus, even very few of the good new adventure games can be played on an Apple computer. They are fine for many things, but heavy gaming is not one of them.

Sounds like a good night for your family at music bingo, Connie!

Happy Thursday. I wondered what happened to you yesterday, Gerry. I even looked back to see if your prior post said you were expecting bad storms. I really feel for all of you without electricity. I would be going absolutely stir crazy! We have had severe storm threats in our forecast everyday this week. I saw on the news that Illinois is the No 1 tornado state this year. They stay south of where I am but my friend in Indiana has been affected by them and all the strong winds this year. Her son was supposed to start back to school this week but the schools are closed due to weather related issues.

I hope you all enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone,

So sorry to hear about all the power outages. That's miserable, especially when it goes on and on. We aren't in power outage weather yet, but it's coming. We had a gas stove in our last house, so were still able to cook, but here I have electric only.

It's a very hazy morning. I'm planning on pottering around in the garden until it's time to go to dance class.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Good Morning everyone! Wide Awake Double Dark Brew is ready. wave

SpaceQ I do hope your power is back today. Draclvr there are ways to install Microsoft Windows on an Apple using "boot camp" or using virtualization software like "Parallel Desktop" so you can play games. I am not tech savvy to be able to do anything like that though.

Oldbroad when I lose power now I lose my landline phone and internet because the signal comes from fiber optic cable. This last time it was a power surge that prevented my service from coming back on...I had to have a tech come out to "digitally reconnect' the signal...at least that's what he said.

Connie congrats on your win! thumbsup

Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend! wave

Good morning everyone. Another hot day here with feels like temps in the triple digits. We made it to the weekend's eve and I hope those with power issues get em fixed! Enjoying WADDB and bagels this morning before a grocery run.

Have a great day everyone! wave

Happy Friday.

I'm nervously awaiting the plumber again and hoping all will go fast and well. The window was 10-12 but he called around 8:15 and said he could come earlier. Glad I can't sleep when I'm nervous and was up to take the call. Getting him in and out earlier works for me!

The only problem this time is that the outdoor cat is in my living room. I know he's going to get scared. Last week he was out and about for most of the time the plumber was here. Worked great.

Have a good day all!

Good Friday morning. A mere 93 degrees F today - I'll take it!

Space Quest, how awful. I would be starting to worry about my refrigerator and freezer!

Gerry, things like Boot Camp are fine for low end gaming and general use. High end dark side gaming requires such hefty hardware that it's just easier to get a Windows gamer all ready to go. I've worked on a few Mac computers and just don't care for the interface. I'll stick with my super reliable Windows PC!
