Good Tuesday morning. Oof... 99, 99, 100, 100. HOT!
Got a message from the caretaker at the Ranch at 8:15 last night asking if I could close at the last minute. His daughter was having an allergic reaction and he was taking her to the ER. So at 8:45 I headed down there to feed the skinnies and check on everyone. Some new extremely emaciated horses... one was a teeny tiny little miniature horse. She was just a skeleton. Poor little thing. They have to be so careful when feeding horses in this condition - if they feed them too much, they can die of refeeding syndrome. My favorite - Legacy - was back in the big barn. He was on a stock trailer that overturned on the interstate about 4 years ago. They were being transported to Mexico for slaughter. I think 12 out of 27 survived. He's a young big Thoroughbred who didn't win any races and a complete squish. I just love him!

Good morning everyone, Woke up to a couple of emails from Velocity and FedEx advising that my computer will be at the border tomorrow, so I'll find out the up-to-now mystery charges on it for customs duty. I'm off to yoga this morning and then mowing the lawn. EDIT: The customs duty on the computer was what I thought it would be, so no nasty surprises. It should be here soon.

Good Wednesday morning. Blech... 100 F today.
After picking a bucket of tomatoes last night, I headed for a cold frosty adult beverage and the pool. I like to stay out there and read for awhile, but I can't for very long because of the mosquitoes. We hardly have any during the summer, but the barn swallows left for their migration a week ago and now there are mosquitoes!
I can tell the hummers are stocking up before their migration in a week or so. I'm almost through 100 pounds of sugar!

Good morning.
It's heavily overcast and apparently coastal BC is in the midst of a massive rainstorm....except for mid-Island. Here we have the gloom and the heavy wind, but not a drop of rain. So strange. At least it's nice and cool.
Got all the paperwork done for the computer yesterday, so it should theoretically speed through customs today and start wending its way here.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Between now and then I have to get everything off OneDrive. There's not much there and I believe it's all backed up but I just want to make sure.
