MMMera, Inc. Announces Federal SPACE QUEST Trademark Registration and First Teaser for Original New Game The first public teaser premiered Sunday, October 11, at Portland Retro Gaming Expo.Check out the teaser here.Check out the game here.New York, NY (October 12, 2026) - MMMera, Inc. announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a federal registration for the SPACE QUEST® trademark in connection with video game software. The announcement follows the first public presentation of a teaser for an original new SPACE QUEST game under development at Guillotine Games.
"With SPACE QUEST now federally registered to MMMera, Inc. for video game software, we're excited to move forward with an original project under the SPACE QUEST name," said Marcus Mera, founder of MMMera, Inc. and Guillotine Games.
"I have tremendous respect for the history behind the name and the people who made the original games so memorable. Our goal is to create something new that captures that sense of humor, adventure and discovery while establishing its own identity."
U.S. Trademark Registration No. 8,064,494 was issued to MMMera, Inc. on December 16, 2025. The registration followed the withdrawal of an opposition filed by Activision Publishing, Inc. On November 25, 2025, the United States Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board dismissed the opposition with prejudice. The federal registration covers the SPACE QUEST® mark for video game software in International Class 009.
The new SPACE QUEST is an original video game being developed by Guillotine Games and published by MMMera, Inc. The teaser offers a first look at the project's visual identity, humor and science-fiction setting. Additional details will be announced as development progresses.
The teaser features voice work by Josh Mandel, the veteran Sierra writer, designer and voice actor associated with the classic Space Quest series. The new game has its own characters, story and creative direction.
Mera previously served as a producer and artist on Colossal Cave 3D, working with Ken and Roberta Williams on their modern reimagining of the adventure game. Through Guillotine Games, he also produced the Colossal Cave Collector's Edition and is directing and designing Mystery House 3D, an R-rated horror reimagining inspired by Roberta Williams' 1980 graphical adventure game. A free playable demo of Mystery House 3D is planned for Steam. Happy Gaming!
