30 October 2026: Dionous Games and developer Lightfoot Bros Games today released Sleepytime Village, a hand-drawn, voice-acted point-and-click adventure, on PC via Steam and GOG. The game arrives the day before Halloween and asks one question of every player: dare you enter the village? A 20% launch discount runs until 13 November 2026.

Sleepytime Village is the story of Rufus, a neglectful, workaholic father who makes one wrong choice too many and wakes up trapped inside a children's storybook reality. Haunted by the village's residents, its formless narrator and visions of his own childhood, he has to find a way out and work out what the Village wants from him. Along the way players meet melancholy toys, sentient furniture and unnerving creatures, and decide whether to help or hinder their strange requests.

Inspired by classics such as Monkey Island and Broken Sword, the game is spooky rather than gory: unsettling, atmospheric and emotional, with no deaths, jump scares or cheap tricks, and a darkly funny tone throughout. Its characters were designed from real drawings by writer Steven Horry's young daughter, re-imagined by Ukrainian artist Yulia Lapko and animated by James Lightfoot. The result is a family-created, handcrafted world of more than 70 hand-drawn playable scenes, from the toy cemetery and underground catacombs to the village square and the domains of the sun and moon.

Key features

A creepy, classic-style point-and-click adventure, spooky but never gory
A story about choices, consequences and redemption, with multiple endings
Dozens of interconnected puzzles using more than 100 collectible objects
Over 70 hand-drawn playable scenes in an original storybook art style
Full-length and voice-acted, with professional voice performances and an original score
Created by Steven Horry, James Lightfoot, Ken Reynolds and Yulia Lapko
Sleepytime Village is out now for PC on Steam and GOG, with a 20% launch discount until 13 November 2026.

Happy Gaming!
