Thief: The Dark Project Remastered

Any chance it is compatible with Apple OS?

Gerry

It does not look like this one is, Gerry, but if there are plans for an Apple OS version, I will post about it here.

One of my favourite games of all time! My very first sneaker.

This is very good news! Nightdive Studios has done a wonderful job in recreating System Shock and remastering System Shock 2 (the latter being my favourite darkside game ever). Both games are from Looking Glass Studios. The first two Thief games are also by Looking Glass Studios, and in the same vein as the System Shock games. I’m very glad to hear that they continue this very important endeavour.

I was, however, disappointed by their remaster of Blade Runner (one of my top 10 list adventure games), but that’s another story.

Thanks Marian I do hope they will consider it.

I have the original boxed version that I played when I had a gaming computer. I still have a an old Sony computer with windows 98...don't think the boxed version worked on it.

Gerry

There has been plenty of community mods for Thief, like it has for other Dark engine games. I expect Nightdive will use many of those community mods in their Thief game too, just like they did in System Shock 2 Remaster. Nightdive did not pay the modders, but the modders gave them permission to use their work for free. The difference here, of course, is that Nightdive games come with tech support from Nightdive (and Steam, and whichever stores that sell them). Players who find mods too complicated to install and maintain will benefit from having one-click installation.

I actually at one time had a dedicated XP laptop so that I could play Thief 1 and 2 mods. There were some fabulous mods, some with long stories spanning two or three separate mods. The talent! I played them for years and years.

Marian.

I never could resist a Thief game. Preordered.

And I am quite sure that your computer can handle it!

This computer can handle anything. I'm playing Crimson Desert right now and it's as smooth as silk.

I am so glad you are happy with it. It sounded like a dream.
