Hmmm, thinking going on here ... oval room, tumbleweed, punch line ... aha! Can't say more, can I? Don't want to be bleeped. Back to the drawing board, I mean backpack, as I was trying to think of something to do with the tumbleweed, like set it afire for a signal that might be seen by the traffic chopper with the lookouts who monitor highway traffic jams. That's out so Plan B is to check if there are any buildings nearby that can be reached by using the ladder as a bridge?

How long is this ball of twine - are we looking at absailing down the cliff? Edit 2nd idea can we boil up the rotten potatoes to produce a gas to fill the large plastic bag, which we secure with twine to make a ballon to float down like Winne the Pooh?

Build a parachute out of the plastic and twine and jump.

Can we make a primitive glider from the plastic, iron lever, spade and twine. and can we leave the potatoes behind as I think they may be a health hazard and the fumes might be distorting your facilties

I'm spinning a fairy tale here for amusement (amazement?) only. Without going near the potatoes since they are in such bad shape, use the ladder to push the potatoes over the side. They land with a thud and a squish. Remember the exotic plants? Well, there is a magic, very exotic seed among the mashed potatoes which sprouts and grows and grows. Up, up, and away! Now there is a magic beanstalk that stretches way up into the sky and a choice to be made. Go up to maybe a magic kingdom, who knows, or down to an empty stretch of land and walk and walk ... where?

Gordon, investigate that tumblewee very thoroughly. There might just be someting in it. Or maybe you can make use of it.

I'm totally stumped and I am not one of those people who can go into a jungle with nothing but a knife and something else (forgot what it was in the quote that I'm using) and build a shopping mall. Quote from the movie Six Days, Seven Nights. I will leave the solution for Gordon24, our endangered species, uh, adventurer!

I thought the magic bean was very cool. However since it has been rejected by our intepid adventurer let us look for an engineering solution. I am going to assume that we have a wooden ladder. Let us saw it in half with our sturdy kitchen knife and tie the two pieces side to side. we then lash the tumble weed to the framework to give bouancy, cover with the plastic and we have a primitive glider. By the way I have no idea what the joke was about the afosaid weed so I shall goole it.

Tomorrow? Lucky for me Undercover: Operation Wintersun finally arrived today after being on order since Aug. 10 so I will be able to wait. But first some more idle thughts: Will we be able to visit you in the hospital or will you be sedated for the unforseeable future after that SPLATTT! In any case, I think flowers are in order no matter how this ends. Not so idle, you have my thanks, Gordon24, for a fun time.

Were those potatos still in your pack? That SPLAT had the sickening sound of squishy, rotton, stinky spuds cushioning your fall.

Surely our game cannot end with a splat and a smell of rotten potatoes? I'm mystified? Have you landed in a gold mine from which you will float out on the gas from the potatoes, a rich and happy man? Thats too simple. It is now 18.00hrs here and I have to log off to make supper but I don't think I will sleep.

Hmmm, is the thinking here something like all that digging that didn't stop the fall landed our intrepid hero in a gold mine? Interesting!

I see a white light at the end of a long tunnel, and begin running towards it. My legs drive me onwards and my front legs stretch forwards with each bound. My long ears flop around the side of my head.----- Hang on this is Watership Down. ----- I'm not a rabbit.
I wake with a start!
I am lying in a Hospital bed. I am covered from head to toe in a plaster cast. I feel no pain! (Just for those of you that were possibly vaguely worried) A tube leads from the nether regions of the cast into a bottle on the floor, the function of which I will not dwell upon. Another tube feeds me an endless soup of new adventure games through a drip by my head.
Once a day a nurse comes in and -
No she doesn't just swap the bottles round, that's from Catch 22 and I'm no plagiarist!
She just changes them for new ones.
At last I have ascended to BAAGS level 8.
No more hunting the nether regions of the internet, and rooting through game shop dumpsters. No more buying up any obscure game I can find. I am in Gamers Nirvana.--- An inexhaustable supply of new adventures without the effort of finding them.
I am content and my quest is done.
Thanks to all of you that I have met, and have helped me along the way. Perhaps, if you would like we may, in the future, venture into the real world on a new adventure ( once all the potatoes have been surgically removed ).
For now. Farewell!

I'm still laughing, gordon24, you are a riot! But I didn't know that at first since I really didn't know what "ratatouille" meant. I had my husband look it up for me on his computer and he found 2 meanings. According to him without the "i" it meant "food" and with the "i" it meant a "rat" and then I got it. Tom had no idea why I was laughing so hard until I explained the game/thread to him. I will leave you now in the recovery room. Enjoy the autumn flowers even though they are not exotic. I will miss playing this game with you and all the others who joined in. If you care to come back with another fun game thread, I'll be one of the first to cheer!
