Riven-Myst II.I have returned to the Dome on Generator Island, and found my way to the linking dome.I am having trouble with the slider puzzle. What 5 numbers from what Ghen's journal?I found 5 numbers from a hint site, tried them ,even several different ways, but still unable to solve the puzzle-to get the linking book-or whatever.According to a walkthrough,I'm pretty near the end.I solved the marble puzzle, now I'm to solve the slider puzzle.I'm confounded.Don't know what else to do,or what else I can do.I don't remember if I saw/found Ghen's journal,to look for the 5 number's that I need to solve the slider puzzle.
On a personal note;I've been busy with life, the reason you all haven't heard anything from me for a long time.I recently finally, solved Harry Potter's 1st and 2nd games.I found flying the broomstick quite hard to control. At least in the 2nd game,I was able to only use the mouse to control the broomstick, which was alot more easier for me than the 1st game-where you had to use the arrow keys.
Last winter,I was able to make it through Myst(the 1st one),with the help of the walkthrough,of course.
Thank you all for all the help you've given me in the past.Looking forward to hearing from you soon,so that I will be able to finish Riven, and start up possibly Myst:3.Deano99

Nice to hear from you and that you are still having fun playing games or flying brooms (maybe playing Quidditch).

Let's wait for the Riven vets to help you.

Dean you'll find a journal sitting on a work bench in the main building on crater island. Those numbers, if I remember correctly, change for each game, so you won't be able to use numbers you find on a hint site.

If something gets your goat, it just proves you have a goat to get.

I did it!!!I found the journal, solved the equivalent numbers, and made my way back to the dome, and entered my new numbers into the slider, and lo and behold,it worked!!!Far out!!Now I'll have to continue at a later time,as it is late.Thank you for the help.I over-looked that clue from earlier,as I already have been in that room before.

Does anyone know how to save your game while playing Riven? I can't find my starter manual.

shadobrat I believe if you click the top of the screen the menu button will appear. Save (Ctrl +S) or "Save as" will Save the current game using a new name. That's what's in my manual. Hope that helps.
