Are you ready for Fallout 3 coming out this October? grin I haven't seen Drizzt here lately - he's a huge fan of the Fallout games too.

Heh, if you only knew. Fallout and Fallout 2 are my favourite RPG's after Planescape: Torment. You could say I'm somewhat... passionate about them whistle

Here's my review of Fallout:

http://www.quandaryland.com/jsp/dispArticle.jsp?index=534

And my comprehensive guide:

http://www.the-spoiler.com/RPG/Interplay/fallout.6/stevefo1.htm

My review of Fallout 2:

http://www.quandaryland.com/jsp/dispArticle.jsp?index=568

And guide:

http://www.the-spoiler.com/RPG/Interplay/fallout2.3/

AND... there's a mad Swede by the name of Per Jorner who's even more passionate about Fallout than all of us put together. He took my Fallout 2 guide as a starting point, and documented *everything you can do in Fallout 2*. It's a masterpiece of completeness:

They were good games.

I'll definintely get #3 when it comes out. Although I'm WAY behind in my games playing. I still have an unopened copy of Bioshock on my shelf.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

hagatha, hi,

Know what you mean. I'm only 1/2 hour into Bioshock. Just making sure my new PC could play it. Still only 2/3 through Half-Life 2... and just starting The Witcher, which I intend to write a guide for.

So many games, so little time :-\

Safecracker, hi,

Bioshock is a first person shooter that takes place in a dystopian underwater city. You need an absolute state-of-the-art graphics card to be able to play it (requires Pixel Shader Model 3 support).

I have always been insane about the Fallout games. There's no chance whatsoever that Bethesda can hope to match the earlier games...that said, I do have high expectations.

Are they dead? Yes. Unlike you they have but one life...and they wasted it for your sake!

I know what you mean, Drizzt. Sequels can be so disappointing, especially ones that come out years later. They seem to lose some of the qualities that made the originals great -- like story line -- in favour of fancy graphics.

Even so, I'll probably give Fallout 3 a try.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

You mean Windows XP (with Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista. smile
Minimum System Requirements:

CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz Single Core processor
System RAM: 1GB
Video Card: Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 128MB RAM (NVIDIA 6600 or better/ATI X1300 or better, excluding ATI X1550).
Sound Card: 100% direct X 9.0c compatible sound card
Hard disc space: 8GB free space. Right! smile
I have that type of computer. But I haven't got 128MB video card.
Which I'm planning to buy. Thanks. smile thumbsup

If you're going to talk about Bioshock, please start a new topic, OK? - with Bioshock being fairly new, and Fallout 3 coming out later this year, this is going to get confusing for people searching for information. Thanks!

But I would be leery of only upgrading enough to make the minimum requirements on a game. So many of them don't play well unless you meet the recommended specs.

That's a great, thanks! As far as requirements go, guess we're going to have to wait a little closer to the release date. They say in that article that they're using the Oblivion engine, but spruced up.

Those are just places you can reserve it by buying it now (pre-purchase, and they send it in September when the game is released).
But I don't know if all the versions will release at the same time, since they're all being done from the ground up, no ports.
