Uncover the Origin of the World’s First Vampire

Quote:
The Adventure Company, the number one brand for PC adventure game sales worldwide, today announced Dracula: Origin for Windows® has shipped to retail stores across North America.

“We’ve partnered once again with the talented teams at Focus Home Interactive and Frogwares Studios, creators of our recently released title, Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis, and are thrilled to bring another quality title to adventure gamers,” said Byron Gaum, Global Product Marketing Manager at The Adventure Company.

In the game, you play the role of Professor Van Helsing, the celebrated vampire hunter, on the hunt for Dracula, while Dracula himself is on a quest for a mysterious manuscript which will give him the power to raise the dead. Your goal is to prevent Dracula from finding and using this manuscript, but also to kill him, in order to liberate the souls of all those who have had the misfortune to cross his path.

Using conventional Point & Click gameplay, Dracula: Origin is a superb adventure supported by impeccable graphics and a rich storyline which takes you to London, Egypt, Austria, and of course to Transylvania, the famous home of the great vampire.

Game Features

Quote:
· An unrelenting pursuit of one of the most terrifying figures from fantasy literature.

· Confrontation between two antithetical heroes: Van Helsing, the restrained scientist and spiritual hero, and the young and high-spirited Dracula, whose inhumanity matches his malevolence.

· Superb graphics, combining 2D environments and 3D characters.

· Interact with over 40 characters. Combine and use over 150 objects associated with the vampire-themed storyline (stake, statue, garlic, mirror, etc.).

· A romantic, bloody and violent Gothic ambiance which is true to the original world created by Bram Stoker, providing total immersion into the adventure.

· A progressive Help System leads players to the solution with increasingly accurate hints.

Standard Disclaimer: Dracula: Origin is shipping to stores in North America now, but it can take several days before it begins to show up on store shelves.

The game has an ESRB rating of T for Teen and will sell for a suggested retail price of $19.99 USD. For more information, visit the Dracula: Origin website.

Me too, my first pre-order.

The only thing that worries me is that if this is about how and why Dracula became a vampire then the game isn't going to have a happy ending. Van Helsing must fail right?

I pre-ordered this game at Amazon with the shipping date end of May. Yesterday I got email from them about the delay to 06/19 - 07/08/2008. What's with shipping this game to stores now?
I don't understand.duh I'd better order it at Interact...

Springchicken -- Amazon has frequently done this in the past with games, changing delivery dates at the last minute. Often the new release dates are wrong, and customers get the game sooner than the later release dates that Amazon has just told them. Other times, though, Amazon does ship the game later than other distributors.

It's confusing, I agree, and it has lost them customers in the past. It seems to be a problem that Amazon has with games but not so much with books -- I have no clue as to why, though.
