Radon Labs is in the process of developing an adventure game based on the novel Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. (This is a different game from Destination: Treasure Island, which was released this year by Kheops Studio.)


The game does not follow the plotline of the novel, but is an original adaptation. Translation below by Babel Fish:



The upcoming Treasure Island game is a traditional point-and-click adventure in real-time 3D, with special effects using light and shade and environmental changes over time (including storms), and particle effects like dust, smoke and fire.


For a look at the first visuals, click here. These are from an early alpha version, showing the interior of the ship as it rocks gently with the waves.


The game is due to release in German in the fourth quarter 2007. No word yet on an English language release.

I reckon that is Jim Hawkins in the screenshots so this should be a third-person game, which means I'm very interested in it. Please, don't let it have action and fighting even if pirates tend toward violence!

Hi all, I found a link on the screenshots page of this game to a game called Everlight. Again in German only. Beautiful graphics and looks like its similar to Treasure Island with inventory items to collect. Another one to watch out for.

I agree with you that Everlight - Candles, Fairies, and a Wish is a game worth watching for and since it is third person it is most definitely on my list.

I remember playing a German demo of Treasure Island so I bought Destination: Treasure Island thinking it was the game as the demo. Sadly, it wasn't However, the game Destination: Treasure Island is still a lot of fun...
