Thanks, Trail. thanks I've got sufficient slaves. I found out that you need to ask "go free" twice to get the Twin Lamps code words.

New problem: I can't find the slave, J'Saddha, I'm supposed to escort. It is possible I killed him by accident earlier in the game. Is there a console cheat I can use to bring him back? I will also need Console Cheats for Dummies directions on how to do this.

Hawk, Just bear in mind with Mark and Recall that you can only have one place Marked at a time, so if you set a second Mark somewhere else the first Marked place will disappear.

Rowan I can't remember exactly how to use the console, but I'll have a go at what I've found and/or can remember:

To open the console itself, use the ~ key.

The code to insert a person is "placeatpc(NPC ID here) 1,1,1"

I couldn't find a complete list of NPC's but the ID codes are in the construction set.

Thanks, hagatha. My construction set doesn't work in Vista. However, I played around with the code you gave me and guessed several times how the slave's name might be written. It finally worked and it let me progress in the House Hlaalu quests.

OK. This is making me insane! I'm at level 33 and after doing several Fighter's Guild and Imperial Cult quests, decided to go back to the main quest in Vivec. This has happened several times and luckily I am a hard-core saver. All of a sudden my lovely green glass armor will disappear and I will have on a robe. Or I'll be fighting something and can't figure out why it's taking so long. Then I'll find out my Daedric Katana has been replaced with something else. I keep all of my armor and all of my weapons sharp and repaired.

But here's the kicker. When I go to get my glass armor, it's GONE from my inventory! My Katana seems to stay there. Any ideas, guys?

Sounds like a bug (I know, I'm a master of the obvious lol ) Did you load your patches? I think if you are playing the GOtY version you'll want to load all the disks in the suggested order as patches for the game are located on the expansion disks...

Hmmmm.... I do have the GOtY version, but I haven't loaded the expansion discs, just the main one. Maybe I'll give that a try. And yes, I do have the patches loaded. I happened to catch when it happened a couple of times. I was running around somewhere and I heard the "sound" you get when you put something on. I stopped and sure enough my armor was gone and this silly robe was on me. So I reloaded a saved game and found a merchant and sold it at a great loss!

Well if you loaded the patches then you shouldn't have to load the other disks. The only time I've ever come across losing something like that was in battle when the armor or weapon was completely used up, but it still appeared in inventory. I've also read that if objects are obtained through less than orthodox means (e.g. through the console or in the game writers secret "workshops") issues can happen with that particular gear.

Well, I guess I technically did steal the green glass armor from the Fighter's Guild in Ald-Rhun! lol

I also stole the green armour from the same fighters' guild but didn't have the armour disappear. I wish I could help, Drac, but I don't have an answer for this one.

How frustrating. It takes so long to get that nice armour, and then to have it disappear....argh!

I did a search on this issue and found nothing to indicate that disappearing inventory items is a known bug. The only things that came close were issues relating to being arrested -- in which case any stolen items would be confiscated, even if you had them stored somewhere else -- or using a mod, neither of which you've indicated.

Maybe reinstalling the game?

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

One time I heard the "sound" was when I was running by an Ordinator. Now, I didn't stop and talk to him, but right after that my stuff was gone again. I wonder if that's it, hagatha...

I'll have to keep paying attention.

You aren't by any chance wearing the Ordinators Helm you get for a quest, the Vivec one where you get the choice from the Watch Officer. But wearing that is not supposed to take your other stuff away, it makes the Ordinators attack you. I stole my green glass armor in the same place, but I did use a key, I think Mad got hers there also.

But surely you'd know if you get arrested.

If you look on your character screen, do you by any chance have a bounty on your head? Even so, usually there should be a commotion if you're caught.

You'll get more glass armour through the game (or you can cheat it in) but if this keeps happening you might lose a quest item.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I have the total green glass outfit from helmet to curiass to greaves to boots to shield. I even have a couple of the glass swords. Except for the stuff I stole in the Fighters Guild, I've gotten it all from enemies I've defeated.

Nope, no bounty. And I have a personal rule against using cheats the first time through a game! I'll pay more attention to what is going on when this happens again.

OK, I have figured out what happens, but not why. It's definitely the Ordinators. As I said before, one time this happened when I just ran past an Ordinator without even talking to him. But last night I talked to one (made sure to save first) and he told me I had to either go to jail or pay the fine (I have no idea what I did - probably stole something I shouldn't have!). So I clicked on pay the fine and when I exited, all my green glass armor was gone from my inventory!

Crazy....

Hi Draclvr smile

Whenever I break the law and pay a fine my glass armour always disappears mad

I've never noticed Ordinators being around at the time, but maybe they are somewhere close by ....

Anyway, I always revert to a previous save.
Can't be without my lovely green glass eek

Cheers.

That's it, Drac. The ordinator's take your armour because you stole it from the fighters' guild. Even though you may not have been caught at the time your crimes catch up with you. When you finally get caught for any petty theft the various lawkeepers will take everything that you have ever stolen from your inventory. However, there is another way of getting it back other than reloading: You can visit the nearest garrison and try to steal it back from the "evidence chest". It's always a good idea to check your bounty status on a regular basis before you speak to an ordinator or legion soldier, etc.

You can also head for a member of the thieves guild and have your bounty removed. I know there's one in Balmora. I remember running like crazy to get away from the "cops" in order to get to the guy. It was pretty funny actually - I'd see them coming one way and head off in the other direction - that's when having the Boots of Blinding Speed really pays off evil

I seem to be eternally lost in the sewer system of Mourmond - I'm trying to find a ghost - did I ever mention that I hated sewers?

And just how much Magika do you have to have to be able to use the Blinding Boots of Speed? I'm at level 34 with 65 Intelligence and 58 Willpower.

How do I check my Bounty? Is it one of the little squares on the lower right?

Another way to avoid law enforcers is to levitate. I can see them running in confusion under me. So I levitate to the thief who can remove the bounty. When I return to the crime scene the event has been forgotten.

You don't use up any magica when using the Boots of Blinding Speed because they are enchanted with Constant Effect. That is true for any constant effect item. That is why I don't bother with any enchantment unless it has constant effect. As soon as I am able I make myself a constant effect levitation item. The only thing you need for the Boots of Blinding Speed is another item with constant effect resist magica to counteract the blindness. For that the Cuirass of Savior's Hide is invaluable. It is light armour, better than glass, and has 40% resist magica which I think is the highest percentage in the game. Once I obtain it I wear it for the rest of the game along with the Boots.

Draclvr, Rowan mentioned the location of that cuirass somewhere in a Morrowind thread, I wrote it down. It is in Tel Fyr in a closet at the top with 100 lock. I think she said you have to levitate up to it. I want it too so I can wear my boots. As for losing all my stolen items, I better never get caught because most of my inventory was stolen somewhere or other.
