I can't figure out how to get Bruno to distract the cook to get the soup. I have the empty crock for it.
I finally figured it out and have now reached the scriptorium with Bruno.

I got help from gaily's thread on giving a gift to Nicholas so he would make the key. When I go back he keeps saying it isn't ready yet. I have the belladonna leaf and thyme (put them in the mortar, hope that was okay) and am trying to get the snuff. I need a key for the Abbot's office. Is it the same as the one for the crypt that Nickolas is making? I also have the crock filled with water.

Have you checked the window by the abbot's office and talked to bruno?

Getting in the window was tricky for me, I kept trying to get the ladder from the stable, but then I finally remembered the rest of your hint, misslilo, and talked to Bruno, what a surprise. I'm trying fix the thingy outlet neck to distill the soporific which is already inside, have the ashes in place, but just can't get it fixed so I'm missing something, but what and where do I find it?

It's night in the crypt with the bas relief and treasure. I've examined the parchment and clicked on figures in the bas relief. Brother Leonardo touches them and I'm expecting something to open but nothing happens. Can't leave so I think I need to find the back passage to the library but no luck finding it so where do I look? I'm ssstuck, again!

I've been going back and forth between the parchment and the bas relief and trying to compare, but am I looking for things that are different or things that are the same? I have noticed that in the bottom lower left panel the people are running away from the flames so that means they are demons? It looks sort of like the center devil has his mouth closed in the parchment and open in the bas relief? That's all I could make out and it doesn't seem to help. When Leonardo touches the upper right (oops, I mean LEFT) figures, there is a close-up of his face, maybe I should do something there? Should I be left-clicking or right-clicking, tried both but can't see any difference so probably it doesn't matter? I keep thinking that maybe if I move the cursor to the correct spot it will change and say something else besides "figures" but haven't found that hot spot if there is one.

It's all about right clicking the right head/spot on the figures. It DOES matter WHERE on the figures you click Took me a while to figure out too...just keep trying.

I'm really sorry about this, but I messed up on my game saves and haven't been able to get any saves after the one where I am at the smithy and giving Nicholas the candle. I used it several times and managed to go on from there, but this time even that save no longer works, maybe because I'm in the next chapter? I tried some earlier saves, but no luck there either. I'm trying to decide if I want to start the game all over or not.

I am at the kitchen, have the pan with water, but can't put it on the stove. I clicked on 2 burners on the stove, the open fire, nothing worked. Is there some specific place on the stove to put the pan? Or the way to do it?

Thank you DABhand and pamvan. I answered the question about the spices in the soup correctly and I didn't see the word 'stove' anywhere. I'll try again and be back.
Edit: I did it, need to click the pan on the Martin at first.

I've given up on the game. It was my fault that the saves didn't work correctly. I have trouble double-clicking on anything. I did try to replay the game, but tried to do something too soon and the game froze. That discouraged me too much so I'm no longer going to play it.
Hi MaG, I read the walkthrough to the end, but ... who is the murderer? Could you tell me in a spoiler, or maybe an email?

Hi MaG, I've replied to the PM. Many thanks for offering saves but no way can I manage to use a save. I keep reading instructions on how to do this, but they are all over my head. I am basically illiterate about how to manage my computer and have my husband do any updating (Every second Tuesday of the month Norton adds updates to their security system and I let Tom do it.) and stuff like that. But he balks at doing anything related to games as he no longer keeps up with the gaming side of our Dell. He used to play games years ago, but has changed to other interests now, like flying radio-controlled model electric planes. It is surprising (at least to me) how many others have this for their hobby and how much there is to do in it. New planes, new kinds of batteries, new transmitters and other new stuff to buy so that his list goes on even longer than my list of games to play. Anyway, thanks for thinking of me with the saves, but it just isn't something I can do. If I was younger I would try to learn but at 85, forget it. I'm lucky to be able to hang in there at all.
