I have a couple of questions about the games listed here on GameBoomers in the Free Games section:

1-What does the asterisk next to the name of the game mean?

2-Are any reviews for those games included in the regular review section?

I'd like to try a couple (which I've never done before), but don't know where to start since there are so many of them! headscratch

Thanks.

The answer is....chocolate! Who cares what the question is.....

Hi Mary -- GameBoomers only rarely posts an official staff review of a free game (with so many commercial and Indie releases it's difficult just keeping up with those)! There are a few examples, though --

Inferno's review of Five Magical Amulets,

Nickie's review of Jessica Plunkenstein and the Düsseldorf Conspiracy,

Looney4Lab's review of The Goat in the Grey Fedora,

Inferno's review of Other Worlds,

My review of Sam & Max: Abe Lincoln Must Die!

My review of Samorost 2,
most of which is free (you can choose to purchase the last levels of the game if you like).

You can also check out the GameBoomers' Member Reviews here. Just glancing through the member reviews, I saw one for 5 Days a Stranger and 7 Days a Skeptic and another for Eye of the Kraken, for exmaple (I mean, for example).

Yet another place to look for information is in the Underground Games section at Adventure Gamers.

Also, I'm sure others who enjoy Free Games Galore will be able to give you lists of some of the games they've particularly enjoyed.

1. The asterisk means *Walkthrough or Hints downloaded with game.

i have played a LOT of these games. Some of my favorites have been:
Out Or Order
Prodigal
5 aand 6 Differences games
All 7 of the Ben Jordan games
All of the 'escape the Room' games
'Samorost' 1 $ 2
The Museum Of Broken Memories
The Infinite Ocean
The Oracle
Cubert Badbone PI
The Submachine games
Other Worlds
11 Somerset
The Bow Street Runner
and others. They're excellent games and worthy of full attention. There is another excellent game not mentioned in the 'Free games' but elsewhere at GB, Fate By Numbers. I have played all these games more than once each.

ruthie, you will have to check the individual games and see what each site says. They are free to dowenload and try so I would recommend you just give it a try.

Thank you Alkis. I will download and play it since you guarantee it for Vista.
