Just bought this game today in a jewel case, so there are no instructions per se as to what icons there are and what they mean. I am in the lighthouse (haven't started using a WT, so might have to go back if I've goofed up) and there is a key in the window. I click on it and it is enlarged, but when I click on it again, it lays back down. Like the diskette I found, it went back in the book, but when I ran across it again, I clicked on it at a different spot and it went into my inventory - unfortunately this key doesn't want to go there (there is no clenched or grabbing fist). Am I suppose to have it? Also in going downstairs, as I go forward it's getting darker. Trying to click around to find some light switch, but nothing, although the finger turned into a wrench. Don't know what the wrench means. Was I to have found a flashlight in my room and brought it with or are their light switches in the basement? I did turn on the lights to get into the lighthouse. Thanks.

That key in the window is just an atmosphere addition. I don't think it can be taken or used.

The cursor are like other games, you can intuit them.
The wrench is the 'use' icon. You can use something close by or you have something in inventory that you can use like the lantern you have in inventory.

The game has many items that you can partially pick up and examine, but it won't allow you to take them into inventory.

Thanks MaG and Rushes, especially the hint about the wrench. I clicked and kept on clicking when it came on, but nothing happened, so will try again.

Well, I'm stuck again - trying to find the cave. I've gone to the beach area and to the left of the boat there are crates and also to the right, but I can't seem to go past them - keep going in circles. Checked MaG's walkthrough and it shows a picture where a ladder is suppose to be, and I have the same picture on my screen but there is no arrow or hand pointing to any ladder, just a + . Help please.

The hotspot-arrow will appear only after you see the map that is in the drawer that you opened in Drake's room.
