Oh, yeah, Dredanox creeped me out when he won his fights. But he was awesome and I fought him a lot. I never thought of his laugh as a flushing toilet, but you're right, Melia!
I also never thought of the one metal fairy as Grace Jones, but oh, looney, you are so on the money there! She won my game for me last time, but I'll never think of her the same again. "Hold on to my bumper, baby...!!" I loved that song!
Edit: Hey, JB. I just thought of something. Are you using the W key for forward movement and the mouse for direction? I found that works the best in this game. Plus the E key is right there for access to the game menu and the F key is easy access for flying. This is why I would never try one of these games without my game pad again. Made my life so much easier!

It was easier for me to use the arrow keys. I just pushed the forward key (up) and used the mouse to direct her. (That worked for me in Dreamfall, too.) You have to invert your mouse controls to do this. The right mouse button will get your fairy flying. The more frequent the clicks, the higher they'll fly...up to a point.

That's the way I used to play these games and I agree, it worked quite well. But then I got this game pad and it was a whole new world for me. Hawka had one and she liked it so much that I thought I'd give it a try. I added a gel pad for my left wrist and angled it a bit to the left and it's relieved a lot of the hand and wrist fatigue I'd get when I used to use the arrow keys. Of course, if I wouldn't play for 3 hours at a time, that might have helped too!

Um... Is this a bad sign? I'm talking out loud to my fairies... Eek, indeed. I think it's time to go to bed.

I think only if you dream about them! I think that's good advice Looney - I played an entire game without flying, and it's still a lot of fun. C'mon and play, Mr. Monky and Sue - still have several assorted lampshades, er, fairy hats to give out.

I'm training up a Darbue and my Goop. I played in the Mountain Realm a bit, but wanted to level up more than just my core 5 fairies first. My Tadana is at level 30 and I kept her from changing. I just love that little voice!

OK, I've come to paths that are blocked. One path is blocked by a boulder and the others I happened upon were bushes with glowing yellow pom poms. How do I get passed these obstructions? Also, I cannot beat any of the fairies in the enchanted forest.

JB You can't do anything until you get the Fairy Cards of Nature and Earth. I think Nature is in the swamp, have been off this game for over a month and need to return to it. Have you done something for the scarecrow near the cottage yet, once you do he will give all your fairies mana. Once you get the runes for each area it will be easier to get around, just teleport.
What kind of magic spell to use?

JB, have you leveled up those fairies you were talking about earlier? If you can't beat the fairies in the Enchanted Forest they must not be leveled up enough. I'd try the ones in the Fairy Garden. A great place to train is the Garden just before you get to the Cottage where the scarecrow is.
Hawka, can we tempt to pick up where you left off?

But your fairies dont level up in training. Mine dont. Unless I am doing something wrong. I have no clue how to level them up except by winning fights.

Are you training with the little guy walking along the stream? I think you get 5 points for eacy fairy fight you win. And she doesn't shoot back at you like the other wild fairies do. Look at your fairy stats and it will tell you how points each one has and how many points you need to get to for the next level.

They do level up, but you need "x" amount of points before they do. In the beginning, not so many points as you will need later. You will see the numbers rolling after the victory shows up. I like to train with the guy in Dunmore, even if he charges you get more points. Yes, Draclvr, I will be returning to Zanzarah soon, I forget where I was though. The last I played when sick, I was on the spiral arena and got extremely nauseous. Good thing the bathroom is right by the computer desk.

JB, those prickly bushes are removed with the Nature card. You don't get the card until you get to Dunmore and go through the swamps, following the ghost lights.
You're still really early in the game. There's a lot to see and do and there will be some back tracking as you get the Earth and Nature cards and the Air card and go back and use them, so don't be in a hurry. You'll get all of that stuff taken care of ultimately.
Have you already been to Tiralin or are you trying to get there? In Tiralin, you can buy golden carrots. These little gems will help you level up your fairies very quickly. You give your fairy one just before a fight. The carrot will get the fairy's points up to just one less than what's needed to level up to the next level. You fight the fairy, and after the fight she goes up one level.
The golden carrots saved me a LOT of time that would have been spent trying to get the level higher. They're expensive, but you have unlimited funds if you enter "gold" on your keyboard....1000 fairy gold each time.
If you're not able to get to Tiralin because your fairy keeps losing the fights, level them up and get to the Cottage where the scarecrow is and buy offensive and defensive spells for your fairies. That will help a lot.
The four food groups: Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and HOT chocolate.

Yes. You have to go through the Enchanted Forets, but not the one where you have to defeat an fairy master to get across the bridge. Keep going straight ahead and you will finally get on a stone path. It's not too far. The Golden Carrots are wonderful for leveling up, but they cost 250 coin each! I just level mine up the hard way and accumulate several thousand coins so I can go buy carrots for when they are up to the higher levels.
Bring up your game menu (I press E) and look at the stats above your fairies. It will tell you how close they are to reaching the next level. Like I said the at the trainer you only get 5 points for winning a fairy fight. With the level 3 wild fairies I think you get 10 points. Of course with the higher level wild fairies, you get more.
Keep at it! The journey in this game is most of the fun. Wait until you get some of your fairies up to level 30 and above. What fun!

Syd its not your wireless mouse. I use a wireless and its never given me trouble. I found the best setting to be all the way to the left for speed and for smoothing slide it all the way to the left and move it forward about half an inch. However its a little slow when fighting. I speed the mouse up when engaging in a fight. A little annoying yes but it works.

You might not be able to access your options just before a fairy fight...at least I never could. So I put my mouse speed at 2/3 to the left and smoothing all the way to the left with the mouse controls inverted. It worked pretty well for me and I wasn't slow in the fairy fights...although some fairies are naturally slow at the lower levels and get better as they train up.

JB you mean it could be the one controlling the mouse and not the mouse itself???? Oh and one other question - how do you get the "get the fairy" cheat to work? Yes, yes I know it's serious cheating but just in case Nothing I type in seems to work - I get told it's an illegal entry or nothing at all happens.
