Hi,
I just joined and this is my first post. I cannot get the lights to turn on in the basement of the museum. While I love adventure games, I don't really enjoy the puzzles and this one is a real pain! I have been clicking endlessly but the lights won't come on. I've looked at walkthroughs but they all say that the puzzle is random, so I am out of luck and patience. I would appreciate any help that you can give me with solving this.
Thanks!

Hi Gatsbygirl,
Yes, it's true the puzzle is random. But if you take note of which switch turns which lights, you'll be able to get all the lights on. I have trouble with the puzzles, also, but I finally got it. Believe me, if I can, you certainly can! Once you get the basement lit, you don't have to go through the puzzle again, if that's any comfort.

Good luck & welcome to Gameboomers. You're goning to love this site!
Pam

Hi!

I am at the FBI headquarters and I have pushed the ladder up to the cables. I am supposed to use scissors to cut the cables. I have walkthroughs but none of them mention scissors. Where do I get scissors?

Thanks

From the walkthrough:
Evidence deposit room: Enter the Evidence room using the key card.
The golden head is missing. Place the headless figurine on deposit shelf.
Look at James' box and take James' ID. Look at the tailor's box and take scissors.

Thanks! I remember now that I tried to take the scissors from the evidence room but I got a message that said something like "can't use these now" so I will try again.

Hi MaG!

I am new to this list and am not sure that I understand your message. Please explain what you meant. I have copied and pasted it below:

Glad that you remembered the scissors now.

1. Thread - If you have any other questions about this game - use this thread. You can find this, your thread by checking the My Place link at top of the page. Then use the 'reply button' and make a new post like you just did.
2. The next request is that if no one has posted after your recent (with 12-24 hrs) posting, we ask that you use the 'edit button' left of the reply button. This help a bit in bandwidth usage of the forum.

I combined your above 2 postings together.

If you keep making different threads, for the same game requests, it ends up pushing another post of the front page.If you EDIT your original thread, we can keep track of your game progress and someone else won't get pushed of the front page, who may need help also. My Place is where all of your posts are located. If you scroll up to the top of this thread, you will find a place where all of your posts are located. It's called My Place. If you need to find a thread or post ,that you've made, you'll find it there. It may seem confusing right now,but it is very easy to maneuver.

Hi!

I have been trying to give Jose the money to rent the jeep but he won't take it. She says something bout "putting the money under a metal thing" but I can't find it. One of the walkthroughs said something about a bearing but I can't seem to find a bearing.
Every time I click on the Impala or the other cars,I get a description of the old car but no metal bearing or place to put the money--help!

gatsbygirl,

Please read again the previous posts about using one thread or topic per game.
I combined the third thread you started.
Please - if you have anymore questions about the game use this thread. Thanks.

The bearing is just in front of the garage door on the left of the building. It is on the ground.

Hello Boomers

I need help with the Golden Figurine puzzle. Everything I have tried doesn't add enough weight. I tried combining pots and adding soil but with no success. Can anyone help this frantic investigator.

Thanks to all the helpful Gameboomers.

Chorlton,

Do this systematically.
Start with one vase - empty.
Then add a scoop of soil.
Then another - until full.
See if that works.
If not, change to another vase and do similar way: empty, scoop once, then add...
Good luck.

Thanks MaG,

Adding the soil step by step was the answer. My thanks to all the Boomers that help us so promptly when we need it.

Hello again Mag
I am at the Thug's Hideout, but can't get rid of the man in the next room. Replayed many times and am aware that a new number is generated each time, and done everything previous in the WT but with no success. I don't think I have missed anything. Hope you can help.

Hi Chorlton,

Have you used the PDA camera on the bag to take a photograph of the phone number? The number is upside down.

Then use your PDA phone function to dial the upside-down number, and that should get the guy in the next room out of the way. luck
