I have been playing adventure games for many years.
None of them are "perfect" (?)
The closest to perfect, for me, are the 5 Carol Reed games.

No violence.
No bad language.
No rush.
Just enjoy the beautiful and interesting scenery.
I have the feeling of "being there".
and I can "be" a good, helpful person.

The Nyqvists have used very good tools,
to create wonderful stories.
The experience is more immersive than a book.

My hope is that the Nyqvists
will be rewarded well for their work.

How nice of you too say that.

I think tht there main reward is not financial but the sense of creation.

LindaMarion,

I know a little about your connection to Len but wonder about your relation to MDNA - to be able to speak for them.

I'm with you Adv... although, for me, they're 100% perfect. Each Carol Reed Mystery game has been a gem.

I'm a great admirer of these games. I'm getting The Colour of Murder for Christmas and I can't wait to play it. I love the photography and the feeling that I'm actually visiting those places in the game. I get a kick out of seeing a computer room with monitors and cords and battery chargers etc. just overflowing the desk and filling the room. It reminds me of my computer corner. And I feel right at home.

The storylines are excellent and believable.

Playing these games is probably the only way I'll get to see Sweden. And every game is better than the one before. They're amazing games. This is for the developers. bravo

Count me as a lover of Carol Reed games too. As I understand it, the developers use a free tool? I don't know anything about game mechanics, but this leads me to believe that it's simple in execution. But oh, the pictures!

I saw this topic and wanted to ask regarding Colour of Murder. Did anybody playing this game notice the "Gameboomers" logo on one of the doors? That was great!

Thanks Laurette for the tip! I have the game from BFG but haven't played it yet. I will be looking for the GB logo!

I love the Carol Reed games too, this is the only one I haven't played yet. bravo

Skippy, In addition to the desk overflowing with stuff, I also got a kick out of the clutter found in other areas... so very much like my own environment! These very intimate views of someone else's life, especially in such a faraway place, give me the feeling that I've stepped into a moment frozen in time... that someone might walk in at any time. Pretty neat. A very unique visit to a Sweden that even tourists wouldn't get.

Laurette, Someone else around here mentioned the GB logo, as well as an ad with Len Green's name. These hidden goodies are tucked away in all their games. Yes, I finally found "GameBoomers" on

the outside of the door at the back of the church.
Haven't finished the game yet (am saving it for the lonelier parts of the Christmas season), but I'll be on the lookout for more easter eggs. catrub

I finished this game yesterday. The GB sign was a great surprise. I also liked the helpful, hintful notebook. Some of the other Reed games didn't go as well for me.

I've played all 5 games now & looking back it feels like I've been on vacation to Sweden every year & have walked along the river, streets & visited places of interest etc. crazy Also in Time Stand Still I was really shocked when the characters Carol spoke to were in photographic poses as I thought I had remembered them being 'animated' in previous games! The way the games are done remind me of watching an absorbing foreign language film that's subtitled that you later recall as being spoken in english if that makes sense! smile
