I am in the machine room trying to get the machines working. I've checked three times, yet the Iron Gate won't open when the lever is pulled. The hint even says "the device may be used". Any thoughts? oh, and the machines are working, water wheel going plus all the other gadgets. Thanks, judyd

I reread that part of the WT several times and was clear on each pedestal. I did get the word success once, but the gate didn't raise. Has anyone had a glitch or something while playing this?
I think you guys ought to make house calls for us novices (just joking) judyd

laugh You can get the game to solve this for you, if you are finding difficulty.
