Hi! Is the game code on the CD itself? I mean,I can't install it w/o the code (which I lost), but when you put the CD in the drive...can you get the code by going into the properties in the "C" drive - - -where the game is showing??? Just had to add this...why is this site requiring me to log in every time I go on it ? I did enter my e-mail saying that I'd forgotten my password; which actually wasn't true as my password wasn't working. The return e-mail said I'd requested a different username and gave me a different password. Checking the box that says "remember me" isn't working. Blah....

Hi, GreyFuss...I'm talking about a first-person-shooter , "American McGee's Alice". If it was still in distribution, I'd send it off to EA games; but as it's not being sold anymore, I dought they'ed still have the exact code. I have the CDs, but lost the code through an accident. (recently moved) I was actually playing it fine on HP windows Vista 64-bit with an Nvidia 2500(?) graphics card. Bummer. I am trying to find it for sale on the internet....it's kind of expensive , so it may not happen. If I knew someone who had it, I'd install it using their code, give the CD's back and play it off MY discs. If that's even possible. BTW, just finished "Return to Mysterious Island 2" ; loved the game, but updated my drivers again ,so probably won't play it again until a patch comes out. (fingers crossed ...hope BigFish comes through)

Can't help you with American McGee's Alice. You might try posting for the game in the Trading forum. Maybe someone has it for a decent price.

I went and loaded mine- although the manual says you will be required to enter the code when loading the game mine loaded just fine- disc 2 for play- I played the first few minutes-. I was worried cause I do not see a code on the manual.

Just a little update.....I went and did a system restore to a day after Best Buy put in the new graphics card and power supply to run it. Well, "Alice" showed up as being installed, but when I tried to play it..I got the message in the little black console box - - - "couldn't load default config." Now I know what it says in the game's ReadMe that you should go to the "base" folder and delete the config.cg file...but I couldn't even see it. Oh, well. I also tried to turn down every thing that could be turned down or disabled...same message. Now I'm wishing I hadn't given my old XP to my nephew. Rest in Peace, Alice ! I'm looking ahead to trying out "A Vampyre Story"- - - hope it runs on Vista !!!!!

I have a "stand-alone" copy of American Macgee's Alice. It was not packaged with Clive Barker's Undying as some were. I also did not have to enter a CD key. After CD 2 finished it seemed to flash right by a screen for entering a code. I played for about 1/2 hour, so will be able to add this to the Win 7 list.

If your machine is Vista, I can give it a try, I sure don't remember having to put a code in XP. I will look for my game tomorrow, hopefully it is on the shelf, not in the tote under my bed.
What kind of magic spell to use?

Actually got it working ! It's a surreal experience to have some old games work on Vista , and some that never work. Like Russian Roulette. I uninstalled it and re-installed it with some assistance . Happy gaming, everybody !
