Wish I was a techie geek or at least more familiar with Win Vista. I downloaded Riven from GOG and it's playing fine...yay ! When I click the Alt tab, and try to save, it brings me to a file called Data...and then when I click "save"; it says "cannot find files specified", or something to that effect. Hmmm..
BTW, "American Mcgee's Alice" is installed; when I try to play it, I'm getting that little black box that says "couldn't load default config.con " I recall that message from before; just can't remember how I dealt with it. I think the readme said to delete the config. file from the data folder , it's just showing as an adobe file, it might say con.X86.
I'll let you all know if I figure this out. Blah.

Isn't it Ctrl-S to save in Riven?
Or hold down the Ctrl key and press the spacebar to get the game menu to show and Save or "Save As" from there.

Yes, I'm doing the Ctrl-S to save; it's when I get to the place (Data) folder that I'm seeing that message (where it would normally save). I'll try the Ctrl key & spacebar option...Thanks !

Figured it out ...you have to change ' *.rvn. ' ...... replace the * and write something else in. Been a while since I've played; it still looks great, even after all this time.
