Near the end of the game, I am in the "Ancient Life Machine Room". I have put the "Waterstone with sap" into the "furnace?" holder. I'm supposed to be able to open the box, but a message says that "The box has a magnetic lock." It won't open. I have followed Malcom's walkthrough, but there is no mention of a magnetic lock.I must be missing something here, and I'd appreciate some help. Thanks

Have you checked the walkthrough by Chief?

I DID say that I was following Malcom's walkthrough, but it is actually CHIEF'S walkthrough. I'm sorry for the misinformation.
What can I be missing? I have read the ending part in Chief's walkthrough over and over, and there is no mention of a "magnetic lock" on the device that I'm supposed to be able to open. I have followed EVERY step word for word in the walkthrough up to that last part before the ending. Maybe one of our members has had the same problem and will see this post. Thanks again

Hello sanford.

In that room where the Ancient life Machine is, the furnace is on the right and the box on the right of the furnace.

I have click on the box even before putting the Stone in the furnace and can open it.
I do not see a magnetic lock.

When the box is open, there are 3 squares with a green contour, 3 black squares and a button.

Put the 3 orbs in the black squares and press the button with a green light.

Assuming you have done everything that the walkthrough says and I'm sure you did, I do not understand why you get that comment.

Maybe go back to your last save and try again to see.

I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong, Chief. As I enter the Ancient Life Machine Room, In my inventory, I'm carrying the Sap covered Waterstone, the Skeleton hand, and the 3 colored balls.As I face the Machine, I turn right, and move forward to what I believe is the "furnace"(it has a round top), and to the right of the furnace, in the same scene, is the rectangular box(with a lock at the bottom).
When I click on it, I get the "magnetic lock" warning.I read the walkthrough over and over, but SOMEHOW, I must have missed something along the way.
Correct me if I'm wrong: The Ancient Life Machine Room is the BROWN building which is accessible after doing the TELESCOPE puzzle(turning the 3 suns into correct positions).

Please tell me if the box has only one or two buttons in front?

I went to look at the AncientRein site and was looking at some pictures.

The box seems to have two buttons when looking at the top left blue picture????

I also contacted the developer of the game who is also a member of GB to get some extra help. Will see if he answers.

Im my game, the rectangular box has only one button near the bottom. Thanks for pursuing this for me.

In the same link in my post above, there is a picture with a small fortress with a box in the middle and it seems to be in the landscape, the middle button in the transporter.

Did you see that?

I went around the game just now and did not see that fortress????

I don't remember seeing that picture in my game, either, but I will look around the landscape again, just to be sure.

Well, I looked around the Landscape again and found that when I faced the telescope(in closeup view),and then turned left I could see that "stone fortress", went forward to it,entered it and there was a closed box on the ground. If I try to open or move that box, there is a message that says: "It won't budge". That must be some kind of a "puzzle" that allows you to access some gizmo that will open the "magnetic Lock" on the box in the Ancient Life Machine Room.
I believe that I saw a picture of the OPEN box on the Ancient Rein site link page. Now I have to find whatever opens that box. FUN! FUN! FUN!

Explore all the rooms again and all the outsides for possibly just a tool, that indeed will be fun (or not).

And it could be interesting to add the info to the walkthrough.

Yes, that's my next step, Chief, finding a "tool" in order to open the box.

I have literally re-visited all areas and rooms, including searching every scene in the Landscape area in search of a "tool" with which to open the box in the "stone fortress". I have turned up nothing, and I am stymied. Can anybody get some "hints" from the developer about Version 8.0 of this game? I know that Mag and Chief have some "pull" in this business. Solving this would lead to an "ademdum" to Chief's walkthrough( not that I have "selfish" reasons, of course) LOL
