Can anyone verify that the replacement setup provided here works correctly?

I have Windows 7 now and want to replay Grim.

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Dave
This is what it says on the site you linked too.

This installer works on both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows and has been tested on Windows XP and Vista. It should work fine with all Windows versions though.

I tried the replacement launcher and it worked great. The game starts OK but within 5 minutes of play Manny freezes indefinitely (interestingly the rest of the environment does not) but obviously I am unable to continue playing.

Any clues? I am Windows 7 x64.

I had to check the Windows 7 and Games thread which is stickied at the top of the Glitches forum. I had some of the same issues, but when I played the game in XP SP3 mode, the problems disappeared. Right click your game icon and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. Follow the prompts from there. Let us know if it works for you too.

I got it to play, but I had issues alittle farther along, when manny had to access his bosses computer It would glitch on me.

As far as I could tell from reading on tech issues, my cpu is to fast for the game. I would have to download cpu grabber to slow my puter down alittle. Have'nt messed around with it yet. I'm playing amertis & color of murder right now. that's what I know for what it's worth.
Good Luck with it Lonewolf wink

Ah, I am thinking of just waiting on a Steam or GOG.com re-release. Its gotta happen eventually right? This game is a classic.

I will try the compatibility setting though. Worth a shot. But I would hate to get 75% into a game and have it "glitch" on me. Thats worse than an early glitch :-).
Thanks.
