Hi,

I know there have been many problems with Victorian Mysteries-Woman in White, and most have been fixed. However, mine hasn't.

When I first got the game it crashed at the Big Fish logo, then when it was updated, I downloaded several times and always clearing it completely off my computer by using CCleaner.

Now I can't even get to the BF Logo, it crashes before it even gets out of the gate, sometimes it comes up there is another game playing, which there isn't.

Any ideas? I have unistalled and reinstalled Flash and Shockwave. I just don't understand if so many people were having the same problem, and can now play the game, why I can't.

I haven't played the game and I'm not familiar with the crashing problem. But on the Big Fish site they list it as being a DirectX 9 game, so the requirements for the video card may be higher than for most Big Fish games. What video card does your computer have?

Radeon x600/x550

I'm pretty sure I've received Directx 9.

The x600/x550 is supposed to support DirectX 9.0 functionality, though it won't fully support DirectX 9.0b or 9.0c functionality.

I don't know that that's your problem though since Big Fish only says "DirectX 9" and not DirectX 9.0b or 9.0c.

Do you have a restore point you could go back to from before you installed the game?

Did you check that the install folder was actually gone after uninstalling?

I used ccleaner to uninstall every time and I checked each time to see that the folder was gone.

I saw on another site that the game only required Directx 8, maybe that was before the rebuild.

Whatever it is, there are still people with the same problems, so maybe it is a compatability thing.

I just thought it worth a try to see if anyone had any ideas, because BF support didn't.

It sounds like they haven't really figured out everything that's causing the problems yet. Hopefully they'll continue working on it.
