First of all, I want to say that I love Big Fish Games. The company has the best customer service and fun, fascinating games. I also like that I can always download an old game that I have purchased anytime I wish. However, I have a question about when I uninstall game using the BF game manager. Sometimes I get a message after the uninstall that some files may have been left on my computer. I usually use a laptop (Vista 64 bit) to play the games so hard drive space is limited. How can I uninstall any files left behind? Have any of you, Boomers, noticed any files left behind after uninstalling games?
Thanks.

Hi, jachern!

I use "Uninstall Program" in the Control Panel to remove BF games from my hard drive. If there are any files left behind, you can always go into your Program Files and delete the game folder if it's still there.

I am Always finding BFG 'LeftOvers'. smashpc
You have to be quite vigilant!
{I too use "Uninstall Program" in Control Panel.}

I always use revo uninstaller and it's free. it scans your reg. files that the game left over and deletes them.

Ana: I am sorry I posted this in the wrong section. I did not think of it as a glitch. Katbear: I am glad that I am not the only one who notices files left behind. Susie: You may be right that I should use Control Panel's uninstaller instead of the BFG manager. Richard: Thank you for telling me about Revo. I will give it a try. As I said my hard drive is getting way too full. Probably because I usually try every HOG game that comes out. LOL

I don't mean to hijack this thread.

I have noticed that files (components) are left behind in the 2 - Application Data files for the games. I was manually deleting the files in Owner and All users.

Will that program work on the Application data files and the registry too?

Note - BFG has been informed of this

Newgames, I've noticed that, too. And since I'm nowhere near a computer expert on this, I may be wrong but I think they leave them intentionally so they'll know which games you've played in the demo version and how long you played them.

I was told by Big Fish that the files stay because are for saved data for these particular games. These files aren't automatically deleted when a game is uninstalled. This is to ensure that any saved game you have will remain there if you decide to get the full version of a game after playing the trial version. Also, in case a game needs to be reinstalled for troubleshooting, that game data won't be deleted.
If you don't like the game after 30 minutes and are not going to buy it or in the future, you can not delete its components. Only manually delete the components.
