I'm cannot install this retail version on W7. It almost completes, but then stalls and tells me to "insert disc 1" when it is already inserted. Goes no further and I must cancel the installation. Any tips? Thanks.

I see there is a patch on that webpage, but it won't help if the game won't install.

Bru27, I think you either have a bad disc or have a marginal disc that your CD player can't read fully. Can you exchange the game back where you bought it?

No, I can't exchange the opened game. I'll try to get help from somewhere else.

If the disc is defective, they should let you exchange it if they have another of the same game in stock.

You might try creating an ISO image of the disk and installing it from that.

Install ISO Recorder, right click the drive icon from My Computer and select Create Image.

The image can be mounted using a program like Virtual Clone Drive.

Bru is not the only one to have this issue. Since I have discovered this exact same issue, I don't believe that this is solely a disc issue. Has anyone discovered a fix since this posting was originally done?
I've searched for and installed every patch I can find but still get the "install disc 1" message.

Did you google for a no cd patch Doreen ? I'm assuming the game installed if you installed every patch you could find.

Also, try installing it by closing down any AV or Security Software you have on your system (make sure you are disconnected from the Internet) and give it a try.
If still no go, try installing it in Safe Mode.
