Anyone playing this game?...You can download this game from the Xbox360 Xbox Live site for 1200 credits. I tried the demo and it is very interesting. Hopefully I might get a gift card with Xbox credits for Xmas and I am going to download the whole game.
It is a very dark game. All you do is control this small character in a side scrolling adventure. One spot is that you have to grab a bear trap and place it in the right area to destroy 3 of a spiders legs so you can continue advancing.

Hi Paul,

I played Limbo a couple of months ago and loved it!

Some of the puzzles were tough to figure out and even tougher to actually solve. evil

I read in GamePro magazine that the developers are working on a sequel. I hope so.

Best,
Leigh-Anne

Hi Paul,
Is it Xbox exclusive?

My husband and I went out and bought an Xbox 360 last night just so I could play this game. How sad is that? He called it my christmas. *lol*

Wonderful game though. Beautiful to look at if you like dark themed stuff. When the little boy is running, you can even see the little puffs of dust come up from his feet. Very well done. If they are working on a sequel I'll be all over that.

If anyone needs a reference point, the gameplay is similar to Samorost. It's that kind of object manipulation, puzzle solving style.

Here's some screenshots to check out. That's the official site and there's also a teaser trailer there if anyone's interested.

@Cocoa,

Limbo is an XBOX Live exclusive.

@AnneG,

I killed that little boy so many times! snicker

Well now that you have that XBOX console may I suggest you play Alan Wake and both of the DLCs? Awesome game in my humble opinion!

Best,
Leigh-Anne

*lol* presto, I have a feeling that I'm going to be killing him a lot too.

It's funny that you mention Alan Wake. We were in Gamestop yesterday and they had it used for 24.99. I almost picked it up. I probably will later. The screenshots always looked really nice for that one.

I doubt if anyone is playing this game but....maybe someone is and might remember this area....it is the water level with 2 ladders and you have the brain plug on your head..your heading right past the 2 ladders then you hit the light and turn around, jump back to the ladders and jump on the ladder on the right, go to the top and wait for a pipe to float up out of the water as it is rising...you are supposed to jump on the pipe and head right to jump off the pipe but the dang fool will jump on the pipe but immediately turn around and jump back on the ladder, all the while I am pressing to the right on the gamepad...I may have a glitch here...I have tried many many times but he will not go to the right to jump off the pipe....sure wish someone could help me here...and I do have the WT

Paul,

I remember this part.

Are you waiting until the pipe floats all of the way up before trying to jump to the ladder on the right? When you first jump him onto to the pipe try walking him over to the right end of the pipe so he's all ready to jump to the right ladder.

I found that quite a lot of the times I was having a problem with getting him to move the right way it was simply a matter of timing. Sometimes it seemed that I'd hit a glitch but I think it was just being off by a microsecond or so would mess up the timing.

Have you seen any Youtube playthroughs? If you're still stuck it might help if you watch one. JammyONE has a funny but informative video walkthrough.

Best,
Leigh-Anne

I am already on the right ladder waiting for the floating pipe to pop out of the water....I am at the top of the ladder and when it gets close I can jump to the floating pipe but he just jumps back to the ladder then the water drowns me...I have tried this so many times...going back in in a bit to try again.....how would I find JammyOne's you tube WT?
tks for the info
Paul

Paul,

It sounds like you'll need to get the boy over to the light again.

Jump from the right ladder to the left ladder, go down the ladder, jump from the ladder to the ledge, run over to the box, jump onto the box, jump from the box to the upper ledge, run over to the light, and then turn him around and go all the way back to the right ladder. Once you're back to the top of the ladder the pipe should be there for you to jump on. But you need to be quick or the water will be over you in a snap.

I think it's possible that he's not jumping to the right from the pipe because he's still under control of the head maggot and he needs light.

You can do a search at Youtube for "Limbo JammyONE" and it should bring up his channel in the list. From there it's part 7 of the playthrough and about 6 minutes in. JammyONE uses language which might be objectionable to some, but turning your volume down solves that issue if need be.

Hope this helps.
Best,
Leigh-Anne

yup, I had to go all the way over to the right again to turn him around to go right...I thought with the water rising I would not have time to get back to the ladder but, alas, I am continuing on...pretty clever game....tks for the help

There is a new limbo out....well, not really....a game very similar to Limbo is "Lost in Shadow" on the WII...don't know if it will be out for any other genre but I just started playing it last night and having loads of fun with it. Maybe when I get into it a little more I will write a review on it for those of you that do have a WII.
Happy gaming
Paul

Now that you have the XBox, if you like Limbo, try Braide and perhaps World of Goo.
