When you look on the disk do you see something listed as "autorun.exe" or "install.exe" or something similar?
If you do try running each of those and see if one isn't the installation file that's needed.
It may be the disk was not set up as auto-install when the disk is inserted and read.

If you have an antivirus, it may be scanning the whole DVD and examining everything the installer is trying to do. Try installing the game in My Documents, or at least in some place other than C:\Program Files There's also the possibility that your DVD is marginal and difficult to read.

To answer you question Homer6, when I put the disc in and a wait a few minutes, the auto-play window pops up and the choices are run-or install and says Rhem4_install.exe..I don't have it automatically to run, it has to ask me first..I try to change it, so when I put the disc in, it will run automatically but it is doing the samething nothing..
I try also installing it from the disc fill, when I open it, and it says Rhem4_install..
both are having the same problem..
Turned off my anitivirus also..something is preventing from reading the disc

I am back again..I try Jenny100 suggestion and copyied the files to my documents..And it worked, I was able to install the game from there without anymore problems..and also without the disc..
Thanks Jenny100..now I can enjoy Rhem again..I played all 3 games, and the last one i played on this computer, with no problems, but this one was nothing but a headache..
anyone has this same problem, tell them to do your suggestion, cause it works..
Thanks for all your suggestions..each is worth the try, and you learn as you go..
Thanks again guys..Hugs Liz

Hello Boomers..
I am lost again..Trying to get to the east area, to do the puzzle there with the bulb, got the bulb, I returned to the tran, here is where I got lost..
I have been going around in circles trying to get to the east area..right now, I am at the beginning where you first enter the tram..can someone lead me from here to get the the east area, or I could start from where I left and got the light bulb..
Thanks..Liz

This is a bit late but I do want to get this posted somewhere. I just found RHEM 4 on DVD in the Detroit area and had exactly the same problem installing the game as the original poster. Start the installation program and about all you see is a flashing lamp on the DVD drive. There have been some reports of systems crashing but probably it is just another way of describing the above. Well here is the answer. This DVD is for both WIN and MAC which might be part of the problem. Testing the disk with the Nero Toolkit showed that even with a 16x DVD drive, the disk can only be read at 1.6x speed. Examining the disk with Windows Explorer, shows the installation program alone to be about 500MB. At 1.6x speed it takes almost 4 minutes to load the installation program and 10 minutes to transfer every file on the DVD to a hard drive. So the "freeze" is not really happening and if you take a nap or go make something to eat, the installation program will finally get loaded and start. It will then ask where the program should be placed on the hard drive and installation is then not too slow. However as Jenny suggested, you can save yourself grief by copying everything on the DVD to a temporary directory on your hard drive (10 minutes.) Then run the installation program from the hard drive where it will start in seconds and do the installation in several minutes.

This is probably way too simple BUT I had the very same problem trying to install Culpa Innata on my WinXP machine. After several tries and getting nowhere (and I had turned off my anti-virus) I got so mad I just left it running and went off to attend to other things. Thirty two minutes later it suddenly started the installation !!
