In WOW you instantly know, when you enter a new area.
In Rift the borders are sort of non-existent.
You just get some text over the screen.
Also - I have absolutely no idea what my HomeCity is or if there is one major city.
I'm lvl 10 and I thought I would know by now, lol.
The graphic is clear and everything, just not quite as bright and cartoonish as I like it.
But other than that, it's quite the same mechanics as WOW.
Edit:
Oh yeah, the rifts.
When you get close to one and there's other players around, you get the option to join a Public Group.
For some reason you get credit and loot options even if you don't really do anything.
At least that's how it feels to me.
That actually brings me to the UI.
You can EDIT the UI - move windows around etc. BUT there are LOTS of them and if you don't plan well where to put them, the screen soon looks plastered.
I have a heck of a time trying to figure out where I want things, lol

As for money - it feels a lot easier to earn gold in this game.
At lvl 10 - if I hadn't spend anything, I would have had around 100 gold.
As for classes - there's 4 main classes with tons of subclasses.
I chose Rogue - and then I could become a Ranger with 2 other subclasses merged into it.
I think you have around 8 subs to choose from.
I have Marksman and Saboteour as subs. They go well together if you like ranged combat.
It's all still a bit confusing - and it's a huge world.
If you go for the big box edition, you actually get a Turtle Mount, a companion and some other cool stuff.
And you can ride early on - at least as soon as you get to a mail box and get them out.
