I've just installed 15 days on my PC which is now OS Win 7. It seems to have installed but when I try to play I get a message to say that: Cougar engine V4.1 Runtime has stopped.

The system specs don't include Win 7 but I was hoping that as a more recent game it may work? I'd love to post my system specs - I can't find where they are - help what do I do to run dxdiag? help

Go to your start button and then search programs and files...type in dxdiag. wave

I would also like to add that I highly doubt it's your computer. Unfortunately many people who played this game received this error message at some point or other with the game. I don't believe a patch has been released either. frown

Thanks Lotus - I had already tried but never thought to press the enter button!

Thanks Marian - that's reassuring but is there anyway to resolve it? I've got:
Win 7 Home premium 64bit
4096 MB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 graphics with a memory of 2764. Is there any other info that's needed? - it's a nice orderly OS but as a result info seems to be in different places!

Maybe Jenny or Inland will know more about that error message, but have you tried playing the game in Compatibility Mode? Right click the play icon, select Troubleshoot Compatibility and follow the prompts.

The German DTP site has several references to the error - but, so far I've found no resolution posted.

Thanks Draclvr, I have tried playing in compatibility mode with all of the options! It still comes back to the same error message. Yet another DTP game I've had problems with! I think I will try contacting them yet again. :

If, like me, you’re a fan of House of Tales’ previous work, then you’re probably wondering why 15 Days is nowhere close to the quality we’ve come to expect of the studio. A corporate buy-out, a noticeably short development schedule, and subsequent reports of House of Tales’ founding members leaving the company would certainly seem to have something to do with it. In light of this troubled production history, it’s not entirely surprising that 15 Days smacks of a game that was slapped together and rushed to market.

I'm disappointed - I was looking forward to playing the game because on my prior experience with them. I'll probably still pick up a copy, just to say I played it smile
