can i play this gamw without using w for walk and other letters as all my other sherlock games work without punching in letters just move mouse left right etc

Well mine worked automatically with the mouse. You might try setting the mouse sensitivity in Options/Game Setup

Just wondering -- do you have the old version of the game, which was 1st person only, or the newer version that allows you to switch from 1st to 3rd person?

If it's the original first person only version and you really don't want to use the keyboard at all, movement can be made by holding down the left mouse button. Double-click-hold to run.
