Yes, it's the XP link in your post above, Inland - but you mean I'll have to buy it? I thought it was free?

Hey I like that Google sidebar, never knew there was such a thing for XP. I especially like the little notepad, always getting some phone call and searching for a piece of scratch paper. Put the weather on too, yuck 66 today. Thanks for bringing this up cruise02 and InlandAZ.

I went to the Stardock site but I don't see a d/l link for the Google Sidebar - where is it?

Geez cruise all you had to do was type Google Sidebar in your search on your home page. Took all of about two seconds, if that. You really are lazy!!

Er, I forgot to tell you that it was for OS X, rather than XP. I was looking for the XP version. I searched in vain, couldn't find it.

EDIT - Believe I just found it!

It was on the same page that Draclvr linked you to and where I got my XP download. In small letters on the right hand side, says Mac, on the left says Linux. Oh well at least now you have it, try the scratch pad, really neat and it stays there until you erase it out even if the computer is shut down.

Ok, now that that's taken care of, I have a question about whether the specks in these Jazz and Faust screenshots are the result of a bad choice I made in selecting the M1530 in that my nvidia card may already be damaged?

When I installed and tested Immortals of Terra on this laptop I didn't see any such specks/bars across the screenshots.
Jazz & Faust 001
Jazz & Faust 002

or are these bars/specks on these screenshots the result of the game itself?

There are no such specks/bars like that in The Watchmaker, which I also have installed and checking out now by going into the game proper. The graphics when testing Watchmaker (by walking Mr. Boone around the castle a bit) prove to be very satisfactory - they're the way they should be in a laptop that has a decent NVidia card.

Did you apply the patch - which resolves some video issues?

Yes, I just tried the J&F update 1. I understand there's another patch, the J&F update 2. When I first installed the game on the M1530, I applied the 2nd update. this didn't work, so I uninstalled the game and just applied the 1st update (by using the UnZip feature) but the specks are still there. You mean I'll have to apply each patch 1 at a time?

EDIT - tried unzipping them both 1 at a time into the JAF folder, but these specks are still there. What gives?

You might try updating your video drivers if you haven't already - just peruse to nVidia's web site and plug in your information.

I think she'd have to get new drivers from laptopvideo2go, Inland, since this is her laptop.
