Been waiting for SE version also but have read reviews that say:

Quote:

Rather than giving us a new adventure, it rehashes bits and pieces of previous games and rather than taking us to new and magical places, expects us to settle for more of the same. It's short, dull and uninteresting and its terrible ending is bound to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Sorry, Dream Chronicles fans. This is not the game of your dreams.

For me, that took all the excitement out of getting this game. Was hoping others who have played it could comment.
Thanks,

Spankie

I have to totally agree with the above review in quotes, unfortunately.

While the graphics were crisp and well done as usual, I finished the game in 2 hours and really wish I'd have read the reviews before buying the game. If I had I wouldn't have bought it.

The rehashing of previous places didn't really bother me as I hadn't played a Dream Chronicle game in a while.

I didn't like that I had to keep picking up the dream pieces even though there was nothing to put the last bunch of them in. Seemed kind of pointless to keep picking them up for no other reason than to see how many you got at the end of the game.

While there were perhaps 1 or 2 puzzles that were challenging, the others were really easy compared to ones in previous games.

In some areas it actually felt like I should have had to do something else instead of just picking something up. Example would be going to the kitchen to get the potion for the father. It was already made so all I had to do was put together a glass bottle and put the potion in...

Seems to me that while the makers of the game make it look good, they kind of dropped the ball on gameplay and challenge.

I wasn't impressed either, have no desire to purchase either CE or SE.

Thanks all for your comments. wave
Been waiting all month for the SE and thought I'd better check reviews first before jumping in to buy. Have played all previous "Dream Chronicles" so this was very disappointing, I won't be buying either.

Big Fish is running a $4.99 special just in time. Even though the game is short and uninspiring, I want to add it to my Dream Chronicle collection.
