My computer was automatically updated and everything was successful except for 2 things:

1)Internet Explorer 9 for Windows. I know that I can update that myself but have held off in doing this. I am wondering if anyone has had problems with this. When my older XP computer was automatically updated to a new version of IE, it caused problems and I had to calll my cable company becaused it caused some problems with their service. What are the benefits of IE9?

2)After the last few updates, there is one update that always fails. It says that this update is important. I have tried using the help screen for updates that don't work but it didn't work. The failed update is:

Update for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (KB2547666).

How important is this update and how do I get if if other methods have failed?

Thank you!

According to security expert Steve Gibson, IE9 is the best IE yet for standards support. That means it should work better than any previous version of IE and there should be fewer websites that don't work.

Updating to IE9 is up to you, but I have to say that I like it better than any other IE. I don't use IE that much - I use Firefox - but when I do, I'm glad I updated to IE9.

Haven't had any issues with that particular update though.
