I know this is an old topic but is there any way to remove or bypass the security code to play Black Mirror I on Win7?? I am so sad to not be able to play the series all together and I only have my Win7 computer now...

Thanks for any suggestions

Happy Gamer

Hi Happy Gamer,

I'll move you across to Glitches for advice, as this is techie rather than gameplay related. luck

If you're talking about bypassing the Starforce protection, just Google The Black Mirror NoCD - you'll find it.

Locate the appropriate version (English, German etc...) and follow the instructions in the download.

You'll need to unrar the file to uncompress the data. If you don’t have a utility that does that, Google 7-ZIP. It's free and unpacks virtually all compression formats.

Thanks for quick response...will this mess up my computer? What does "unrar" mean?

Rar is just a data compression format, Happy Gamer, sort of like zip. I think your Win 7 can deal with it, mine can. It will just be a matter of 'extracting' rather than 'unzipping'.

Can you do this with Jack the Ripper and Broken Sword-Sleeping Dragon?

It's probably easier to just buy Sleeping Dragon from GOG. The UK version of Sleeping Dragon did not use StarForce, and the NoCD was made for the UK version. So the NoCD won't work with the US version. It's only $5.99 at ***GOG*** and you don't have the aggravation.

If you're talking about the Jack the Ripper game from 2004, it did not use StarForce but used some other type of CD checks. If these CD checks aren't working with your version of Windows, you can do a Google search for
Jack the Ripper NoCD
and find a NoCD and instructions.
