I have downloaded Dead Mountainner and I am lost as to how to moved my character. Perhaps I should post this in another forumn and if I have please feel free to move it. My little man is at the door of the hotel but I use my mouse and board keys and nothing happens and it's most frustrating.

There is a pdf manual in the files but it addresses what the crusor does but the problem here is that I can not get mine to move. I am not the only one with this problem so maybe I will wait until someone comes up with a solution. I have checked my drivers and my mouse and they both seem to be working properly....I am out of ideas.

Hi lexxy, I've just started the game (playing on Win 7). The game cursor should appear as soon as the dialogue with the hotel owner ends. It plays as normal point and click. Looks like you've hit the glitch that others are experiencing. I'll move this thread across to Glitches for advice.

Something just occured to me and I hope it's not true and that is what if this game is designed for users of Windows 7 and no for WXP. I have tested my mouse and drivers and all is OK so maybe it just want play for us using WXP. I wonder if there is a patch for WXP or if it's just beyond us. I wanted to download both games but if I can't get this one to run it would be a waste of money and I doubt if there is a refund policy.

I'm playing in xp and it plays just fine. I think the game is only for xp and vista. I went to the French website and that's what it said. Richard

Richard, I'm playing the game in Win 7 and it's running perfectly, so in theory it's compatible across all platforms. I have no idea what's causing the problem for some players, though. I hope a solution is found for it.

I just don't know what to think now because my computer is beyond the min specs and the drivers are up dated...any suggestions. Often you have to go back to older drivers for the video card. If you can find someone with your model video card and your version of Windows who is playing the game successfully, ask them what version/date of your video card drivers they are using.

Sure is funny that these games Dead Mountaineer's Hotel and A Stroke of Fate play real good but this game won't run Eko Episode One: Strange New World. Keep crashing back to my desktop. You figure it out. It can't be that demanding. Richard

I am running: Intel(r) Pentium(r) 4CPU, 2.80GHZ (2CPUs) BTW I forgot to ask if you are having crusor problems with Stroke of Fate. If I can get credit for money paid for Dead Mountaineer, which I can not play, maybe they will allow me to download Stroke instead...never hurts to ask.

I have not had a single problem with A Stroke of Fate and am enjoying the game.
I see you have a multiple processor also...does someone have instructions on how to get a game to run on one processor? Its worth a try as I have heard others try this with games that might not like multiple processors. I have never tried this before as I never had the need.

Thanks so much for the link. I have downloaded it and now all I have to do is re purchase the game and see what happens. I know it's only $10 but I hate that they can not find the purchase order and put it in my library and let me download it again. I will be so happy when I can move that little man out of the cold (lol).

That's terrible - like Jenny says, you should not have to purchase a game twice. I would raise all kinds of noise about that.

Don't you have your email receipt from Steam and receipt from Paypal or Visa you could show them? I would think the receipt from Steam thanking you for the purchase would suffice.

I finally got an answer from a real person at Steam and it appears that I had two accounts and we had to find the first one, establish a new pass word and the game was downloaded and guess what I am NOW playing the game. The opening scenes with the snow and the mountains was a welcome sight...BTW I finally got my little man in from the cold. I am glad that the problem is finally resolved but I am still not happy that there is no telephone number to contact them.
