Just created windows 3.11 VM in virtual PC 2004 and AFAIK it should have created an access for D/E drive from Windows 3.11. I haven't created a Win 3.xx VM in a long time, so may have forgotten some things - how do I get my Win 3.xx optical drive access back?

Thanks in advance

Also the setup of Win 3.xx went smoothly except that when Disk 6 had finished doing its work it prompted me to do a restart, which I did, and when I clicked on the "restart icon, the VM restarted but I got a black screen with no continuation of the setup program. I know it's supposed to continue past this point but it no longer does - help?

You probably didn't install the Virtual Machine Additions - it adds MSCDEX.EXE to autoexec.bat and CDROM.SYS to config.sys.

You didn’t' mention which steps you took, so I can't say. Did you exclude Networking? A lot of folks have issues during the auto detect process.

When you start the VM what black screen are you referring to? Is it the ready prompt?

If you see C:\> displayed - enter WIN to start Windows.
