Good morning. Wow, the diner is very quiet this morning. Wonder where Joe is this morning. I hope he's OK. Morning Sue, Haroula, and all who come in later. I have an early shift this morning. But it'll be a very busy day. Rob. See you after work. Midgie
Just do it.

Hello, good morning and have a great day Cailyn, Haroula, Midge, Gerry, Connie and everyone who comes in after me! Hope Joe is okay. Well, I (finally) received a phone call from the manager of the company that works at our store. (He was on medical leave, so it took a lot longer than expected.) I have an interview today, and if all goes well, I should start working with them soon. Which means I'll be able to post frequently again. Working one day a week has been good for "vacation time" but not good for my nerves as far as paying my bills are concerned. Everything should go okay at this interview. If I'm lucky, he'll simply want me to fill out papers and I can start this week or next week. Will have to quit my other job right before I start, of course. Anyway, have to go and finish getting ready now. Hopefully, I'll be able to stick around this time. Will let everyone know how it goes when I get back. Have a terrific day, everyone.

Thanks, Haroula. to Rob, Midge. Well, I just got back, and yes, I basically got the job. I just have to take a drug test within 24 hours, and then I'll probably have to wait a week or so. This should be so much better for me than my current job. I probably wouldn't start out with too many hours, but certainly they would be far more than what I'm getting now. Plus, the job pays more. And the manager said that the employee(s) who do the best work will end up getting the most hours, and I think I should meet that criteria without any problem. Okay, off to catch up on some things I missed. Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning everyboomie. Yes I'm so sorry. I was here last night,, but as soon as I started to get the diner ready I lost my GB connection and finally gave up at around 12:30. I hope everyone is doing ok this morning. We have heavy fog here, but we'll be all sunshine and 80 degrees buy this afternoon. That's a little too warm for me. I was severely dehydrated last night because of the heat, and the fact that I didn't take any water with me. I did drink the creek water though. It was cold and didn't taste bad at all. I figured if Baby can drink it, then so can I. I hope everyone has a great day and thank you Cailyn for opening up the diner for me this morning. joe

Good morning boomies! I am done with my weight training and workout and then I have to go to the chiropractors. I love getting put back in place. The rest of the day is crunch time on my project. Joe, so sorry about not posting for you last night. I was asleep by the time you sent it. Venus, glad the interview went well! Sue, thanks for opening! Haroula, Have a great day! Midgie, Rob! Have a fun day. Gerry, you weren't too loud, I slept right through. I think my dogs snoring drowned you out. Gail, anything fun for the day? Connie, I hope things are getting better everyday.

Venus good luck on the job interview. Hope you get it. Ana I knew that. No problem. I didn't know if you would get back here before me or not. MaG I know you can't control that. Maybe I'll try and install Chrome or some other browser. Thanks Darlene! Have a great day. Thanks Nan. If Space is using IE8 or Firefox it probably is the same problem. I'm out of here to try and get something accomplished today. Talk to you all later. joe

Thanks, Nan! Have fun in the sun today. Thanks, Joe! I already got it, basically, I just have to wait for the results of the drug test, which won't be any problem. Hope you are able to get something accomplished. Side note: It's so good to be able to post again, I think I'm going a little crazy today.

Happy to see you got back on GB, Joe! Scary when the diner is 'under new management' for a moment. I just caught up on last night's diner and saw your 'phone drama'. Sounds like whatever I had is rubbing off on you. Trying to work with 'representatives' and get a straight story is so utterly insane these days.
Yesterday, I hung up on 2 callers, one who wanted to sell me a home improvement assessment, and the other who was from some lifeline or something home monitor system. They call ALL the time. I've asked to have my number removed, but it never happens.
Then last night someone called saying they were from TV Guide. They aren't specifically. I got a call the day before that too. Same place I think, but different person. So I was mad. I told this guy (who calls me every few months) that I wasn't interested. Actually the call went like this: "If you are calling to ask if I am timely receiving my TV Guide magazine, and if it's in good shape, and do I want to renew it at a senior or cheaper rate, my answers are: YESYES and NO! Then I told him to remove my number and never call me again. He wasn't nice and said "I'll call back when YOU are in a better mood", and hung up on ME. Can you believe that one? Gads!
Only reason I hate these calls is my subscription doesn't expire till 2015!!! They don't seem to know that so they are NOT from TV Guide but some alternative clearing house trying to get their commission. I have nothing against making a living, but they are so obnoxious. Especially 'Patrick' who is the frequent caller. So tired of all this phone stuff. Next time, Patrick is gonna hear, "I want to talk to your supervisor, I want your phone number, I want your full name, where you are calling from, and I want you to donate to my pay off my mortgage fund. Maybe that will do it.
Off to Wally Mart again today. Still trying to find those huge 'plastic tubs' with the braided plastic rope handles so I can have my yard kid replant my bird of paradise plants which have split their old planters. Can't find them anywhere. Well, actually I did find some in baby pink color (and very thin quality) at Target but they were way overpriced and wouldn't have lasted a season outside.
Off on the hunt. And if anyone calls me for any advertising reasons, woe be they!!!
WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.

Sorta, sorry the phone jerks are bothering you. Tell them you are on the Do Not Call list and ask them again who they are calling for as well as their name and employee number and they normally will take you off. My phone has been ringing off the hook with political calls because those guys are exempt from the law. I just let those go to the answering machine though I am about ready to tape a message that says, "Hello, I am voting for my dog Keoki. Please leave me your personal number and I'll call and bug you about him." But then I decide that is too much work and just go back to ignoring the calls. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize anyway except for now and again I'll answer Private Caller as that is how daughter's number appears from work. But she knows if she calls from that number and I don't answer (which is the norm), she can call back from her cell and I will. Boys will be here soon. They are not supposed to be here til tomorrow, but ........ Back later

Thanks, L4L. I'm with you on letting the calls go to the answering machine. In fact, unless I know the person calling, I won't answer the phone at all. If it's that important, they can leave a message. Well, I just got back from the drug test. It was a bit of a hassle because the place I had in mind, which is just two minutes from where I live, is no longer doing those tests. I didn't know that until I got there, and I had just drunk a whole bottle of water for the test. The other place was a bit out of the way, but I was able to follow the instructions without any problems, and that's all taken care of now. Also, it turns out my manager wants me to come into work tomorrow, so I get two days this week instead of one. Wow, I'm moving up in the world now. Well, it will help until I start with the other company, and anything is better than nothing. Now, I am off to play a game. I'm behind on that, too.

Thanks for all your birthday wishes for Rob. I'm cooking Prime Rib for all of them. Man it smells good in my place. I'll be going over to bring the dinner soon. Venus I'm sure you got the job. Congratulations my dear. It's good to see you Joe. Sorry you're having so much trouble with your computer. I would have thrown it out the window by now. See you later. Midgie
Just do it.
