Hello. We need your help please.

My wife's computer is giving this window since yesterday:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error.

Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\EXPLORE.EXE

This application has requested to terminate it in an unusual way."


Every time she goes on a site, she gets this message.

Her computer is: MS Windows XP SP3, Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.06GHz, 1.4GB Ram, AMD Radeon 6500 Series.

Hi Chief, the first thing I'd do is reinstall the runtime components -

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

I know it's 9 but where is it written?

Can you start IE.. if so at the top of its page.the menu bar. you see the word Help.... click on it you will see :About Internet Explorer ... click on that and you will see what you are running...:)

Chief, it can't be IE 9 if the operating system is XP. IE 9 is only available for Vista and above.

Yes, you are right. Her IE is 8 and mine is 9 with Win 7.
