There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Nine-year-old Joey, was asked by his mother what he had learned in Sunday school.
"Well, Mom, our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his army build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then, he radioed headquarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge and all the Israelites were saved."
"Now, Joey, is that really what your teacher taught you?" his mother asked.
"Well, no, Mom. But, if I told it the way the teacher did, you'd never believe it!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and suitcases.
On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.
On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music, and feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar, and a bottle of Chardonnay.
When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells, dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.
Then the ex-husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried everything; cleaning and mopping and airing the place out. Vents were checked for dead rodents, and carpets were steam cleaned. Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to set off gas canisters, during which time they had to move out for a few days, and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting. Nothing worked.
People stopped coming over to visit... Repairmen refused to work in the house...The maid quit... Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.
A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out, and eventually, even the local realtors refused to return their calls.
Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to purchase a new place. The ex-wife called the man, and asked how things were going. He told her the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely, and said that she missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back...
Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth...But only if she were to sign the papers that very day. She agreed, and within the hour, his lawyers delivered the paperwork.
A week later, the man and his new girlfriend stood smirking as they watched the moving company pack everything to take to their new home... including the curtain rods.

A window salesman telephoned his blonde customer.
“Ms. Brown, our company replaced all your windows with triple-glazed models more than a year ago, and we still haven't received a single payment.”
“But,”, the blonde protested, “You promised me they would pay for themselves in 12 months.”

A blonde guy had a major argument with his girlfriend. After storming away and cooling off, he had time to think.
He knew he was clearly in the wrong and felt really guilty about the entire trauma that he had caused. So to make it up to his girlfriend, he decided to offer her a gift.
"I'm so sorry. Choose anything at all, my love," he said, overcome with remorse.
"Oh, I don't know," replied his sweetheart, excited at the idea of a gift but still wanting to get back at him. "You really shouldn't do this you know. But, if you insist, just get me something very expensive, that I don't really need."
The following day he booked her in for heart surgery.

"In what aisle could I find the Polish sausage?" the customer asks the clerk.
The clerk looks at him and says, "Are you Polish?"
The guy, clearly offended, says, "Well, yes I am. But let me ask you something. If I had asked for Italian sausage would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a Taco would you ask if I was Mexican? Would you? Would you?"
The clerk says, "Well, no!"
"If I asked for some Irish whiskey, would you ask if I was Irish?"
"Well, I probably wouldn't!"
With deep, self-righteous indignation, the guy says, "Well then, why did you ask me if I'm Polish because I asked for Polish sausage?"
The clerk replies, "Because you're at Lowe's!"

Good morning everyboomie. wave

I'm drunk with happiness. I'm delirious with joy. penguin

It's morning though. We'll see if my attitude holds up all day. rolleyes

One really great thing about today is the Dish guy coming to re-install my dish. yay

That's good because I'm ready for a dish of ice cream. snicker

The bad thing is that I had to pass up a trip to hunt arrowheads because the Dish guy is coming. frown

Another good thing is that I get to go clean up all the limbs and leaves in Mom's yard. yes

headscratch No, wait...that's another bad thing.

Well if I dwell on it any longer I may not want to get out of bed.

Then again, when did I EVER want to get out of bed?

Have a happy day everyone.

Sorry you're missing your hunt today, Joe. Hope you get to do it another day.

Have a nice day, too, Haroula.

Have a terrific day, Cailyn.

Have a fantastic day, Gerry.

Stay cool, Midge!

Hope you're able to take a walk today, Connie.

Have fun walking the dogs, Gail. puppy

Enjoy your day off, goldqueen.

I finally get a day off this week. happydance It's actually my only day off this week, since I go back to work tomorrow for the big release.

So today is definite relaxing and gaming day. I'll have to make sure to fit in some practice as well. I've been bad with that since work has been so hectic, and I have a voice lesson next Wednesday that I have to be prepared for.

As for now, I'm off to see what I've missed this week. grin

Have a great Friday, everyone. summer

Fantastic Friday ya'll puppy

Boys will be here in a bit so I'm rushing to get everyone fed and then get us out for our walk. Hubby and I have a play this weekend happydance and we might take in a movie on Sat. I would love to go hiking but it's still too hot and they are talking rain. I'd love the rain though honestly, if I could schedule it I'd pencil it in during the week when we don't have the boys. <sigh>

Joe, enjoy the day.

Haroula, have a great day!

Cailyn, thanks for the coffee. It's delicious!

Gerry, have a great day.

Mdigy, try to stay cool.

Connie, I hope the walk was great and that you guys are soon regulars again.

Gail, hope the doc's appointment is quick and easy.

Shell, how is Marc's visit going?

Venus, enjoy the day.

Ana, have fun!

Nan, hope the day is lots of fun.

I'm meeeelllllting! I know it's retribution for me always razzing everyone about how perfect our weather is. Mea Culpa. I didn't mean it, I want my nice weather back. It's 84 and HUMID!

So yesterday just before dark a car pulls up out front. I'm watching it like a hawk. Hate cars parking in front of my house. A lot do to use their cell phones and they are gone in 5 minutes or so.

This car stayed 1/2 hour and from what I could tell, it was a man and woman eating their fast food. Could see lady with napkins, eating french fries. Etc. I watched carefully as I just knew she would throw her food bag out the window or something. Didn't really see anything, but this morning, oh no, a DIRTY newborn diaper in the gutter well run over and baked onto the concrete. YUK! I had to glove up, use two plastic bags and then disinfect my self. Ugh ugh ugh! So I was sorta right. She did dump something. Not the bag though.

THEN later after dark about 9:45 a car drove up and parked. No one got out. I watched for 45 minutes and saw nothing but I figure it was a lady of the evening and her 'friend'. They made a U-turn and went back the way they came. We get those a lot here.

AND while that car was there, another car passed it by, U-turned, U-turned again and parked smack dab behind it. Only saw one person in that car and couldn't tell if it was a man or woman. THAT person sat there for (get this) 2 and 1/2 hours! Never got out, never turned on any lights, didn't see a cell phone. I was afraid to go to bed (it was now past midnight. So just as I was about to call the cops (in case it was a home invasion or something), someone got out, activated their alarm stuff (could see it blinking) and walked directly down the block and into the famed Apartments! Why oh why did they sit there for 2 1/2 hours????? Car was there all night and left about 8 while I was taking a shower. Darn, never got a good look at the driver.

Strange goings on around here. Not to mention the Corona beer bottle that someone threw in the street directly out front and the glass is now tracked down 3 houses. I swept up what I could and found the neck of it just off my sidewalk. Grrrrrrr.

WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
